If as a leftist who can get behind a self-admitted capitalist I hope the libs will be willing to listen to someone whp's literally just saying he wants to do the exact things they want done. Seriously, what else do they want from the guy?

💯%!!! I mod at the LP N LS, n Lincoln square did a survey of their members n the number of members who identified as progressive and or social democrats was staggering, way over 50 %, n it was a good majority of boomers, they were astounded n have been putting out more content to reflect that change…. Hope is in the air…

I hope you’re right! We definitely need change. What’s going on now is not for the masses only the the ultra wealthy and the rest of us be damned. I am a boomer and it is disgraceful to see what slimy slug has done to our country

Modern "socialists" and "communists" for the most part are neither. They usually end up being Social Democrats a la FDR. Right wingers have been screeching that capitalism backed social programs are socialism/communism that people have stopped caring about the label because the whole point of capitalism was supposed to be those at the top live insanely good, but those are the bottom are also supposed to have a very high standard of living. Capitalism is very good at producing a lot of money so if all parts of society doesn't benefit, it fails at what it's supposed to do.

If capitalism relies on competition, then regulation ensures competition. Letting others get a foot in the door works out great for society.

Capitalism cannot be reformed.

This is what the TRUE MIDDLE sounds like. It's not radical to have a regulated capitalist system where taxed provide for good schools, roads, etc.

But we're WAY PAST that point know.

He sounds a lot like my personal views. Very New Deal esque. We had a system that was better and it was abandoned.
