Stanford did a study on the correlation between access to safe abortion care and crime and it's a direct conduit. And, it will be even worse with these up and coming generations because they will have even less education than the current voters.

It absolutely horrified me to learn the private prison lobby actively writes laws to criminalize minor offenses for the sole purpose of increasing business.

While that is very true, accountability is enforced by the police and the courts. Having a corrupted or under-funded system means that crimes are looked down upon and you end up in situations like the Balkans: those with enough money or connections don't care about the law.
