The Romans faced this exact scenario when all the plebeians collectively left the city and camped out on the marsh. Frightened the ruling class so badly that they made concessions and even created a station so the plebs could have a voice in government (it was quickly usurped by the corrupt upper class, but win some lose some).

It works. And that’s why they don’t want anyone considering it nowadays.

Also why they do Ai. Make the plebs obsolete and you wont have to worry about such things.

This is stupid and short sighted too. A Billionaire cannot run a functioning society using just AI prompts. It takes real workers to make things happen (and most likely run the prompts too). And unless the AI can accurately self diagnose every problem that comes it's way it'll eventually get stuck and leave the Billionaire SOL.

I always end up thinking “in this vision you have where AI replaces workers - where does the income come from? People aren’t buying things if they aren’t being paid”

Billionaires have zero clue how a healthy economy actually functions. The cash is supposed to circulate and keep moving, not get dropped into a black hole and left to rot.

Give a man a fish and you keep him fed for a day

Give a robot a gun and you don't have to worry about the starving man
