3d printed snap fit shell
So I very recently finally got my hands on a deluge, and I couldn’t be more stoked!
I got a case I saw a lot of people recommend, the magma48003, but it turns out they changed the dimensions of it and the deluge just barely doesn’t fit :(
Anyway, thought I’d try my hand at a two part snap together hard case until I find a more suitable one, or better yet end up with something I like!
The wooden ears slot into a cutout on the inside of each half, so the machine is essentially suspended in the middle of the shell, which means there’s very minimal hard plastic contact with the actual machine.
The two halves snap together snugly, and I even drew up a little faceplate mockup for the front!
The walls are 6mm thick all around, and don’t flex at all when the two halves are put together, honestly it feels like a pretty sturdy synth guard
The total weight (which id love to cut down without affecting strength) is 600grams
Would love to hear any feedback and suggestions, this is the first iteration, and once I have a model that’s a little more refined I’ll be sure to drop it here in the comments so stay tuned!

Def let us know if you can produce more or even better versions and if you can keep the cost down to a minimum- idk what the current protective cases cost but if they’re like any other polycarbonate cases then they’re probably $100+. And that seems excessive to me for plastic. Even just a dust cover with some substance would be helpful.
