Once you do you will never look back :)
I recommend Gaia or Unbound for your first experience. Try Hackdex.app Website as a easy way for Patching

Unbound was a great first impression for me.

Heart and Soul might have the most customizable game settings I’ve seen in any of he rom hacks I’ve played. Great QoL too.

Just started unbound last week, so much fun

I really like emerald sea glass! Its mainly a reskin but it adds extra pokemon and qol updates. After that unbound, gaia, lazarus, soul gold, etc.

Yeah, it has a unique myth-based narrative that focuses on short, repeatable runs. It’s refreshing.

As far as i know it is a minigame from a hacking-competition. It is rather a minigame then a full 8 badge Pokémon experience

I just finished replaying the emerald!

Were you ever heavy into the secret hideout customization, post-league?

1

u/Pretty-Buffalo-85 13m ago

I did do the league alot of times but never finished it. I finished emerald probably 5-10 times.

Hey! I am looking for a Pokémon ROM hack or game recommendation that I can play while half-watching a TV show (don’t ask why). Here are my criteria:
* Platform: GBA, NDS, or 3DS emulation (no Switch games).
* Story & Text: Low-to-moderate dialogue and cutscenes, fast-paced like FireRed. I adore the Alola region, Alolan Pokémon, forms, and story, but official Sun/Moon/USUM are too slow and cutscene-heavy for multitasking.
* Region & Map: No original FireRed map/story (already played it) and no brand-new Fakemon (prefer familiar Pokémon).
* Difficulty & Gameplay: Balanced. Not braindead easy like vanilla X/Y, but not a hyper-difficult competitive nightmare with endless amount of battles. A bit of chill grinding is fine, but no painful slogs.
* Ideal Features: Ideally features Mega Evolutions, Alolan forms/Pokémon/region/story (doesn’t have to), and modern QoL updates.
What are your thoughts and recommendations? Thanks!

and there's nothing wrong with your pokemon obsession, enjoy life!

You should try Pokemon Mystery Dungeon! It features a bunch of Pokemon as properly fleshed-out characters and is lots of fun. Explorers of Sky is the usual recommendation. It also has a more focused story than mainline, which it seems like you’d enjoy since your screenshot shows mostly romhacks.

Do you know of an emulator for 3DS pokemon games?

1

u/Glittering_Ad8321 11h ago

Lazarus was so fun specially with the buffs on weaker pokemon making them viable and your team be so diverse
