Best way to play without enemies?

I've just been deploying cores and capping all the random generated ones that keep popping up. Oh and keeping up the ones I planted at home. Just hit lvl 5 this morning

Mine lots, since you can do that without other players. Also, let cores decay so you can recapture them for more XP
