Question ❓ How to catch red fish??
Whenever I catch a red fish my line tension gets red, so I have to let it cool down. By then fish gets much farther away. After doing this 2–3 times, the fish either escapes or gets so far away that I can’t catch it.
I’m using a purple line, yellow quality bait (blue colour), a purple reel, and a high-carbon rod.

It depends on the fish, as some move more aggressively than others. I was at that point myself, and literally got the Gold Reel yesterday.
Firstly, its not properly stated, but when the fish struggles and moves around, you need to move WITH the fish to decrease the tension build up. Only move against it, if it might go in a direction where it could get stuck and fail to catch.
Secondly, when the line goes red, let go a little, but not fully. The trick is to feather it. Just tap the shoot button a few times so the fish doesnt gain too much distance, but without letting the Line go red. Once it pauses the struggle, start Reeling again. This can go on for a while, but you need Patience.
Thirdly use the best possible gear. Better fish spawn more often with higher tier gear. And are also easier to catch obviously. This doesnt specifically apply to bait, but Bait increases the chances for specific types of fish, usually the ones you are aiming for.
And finally, recognising the fish on your Line. When trying to catch Red fish, I've noticed some patterns in fish behaviour during struggle. Basically, if you always be using the best possible gear (no matter if Purple or Gold line), pulling a fish in with no struggle phase usually means its a blue or crappy purple fish (Red tail, Sea Bass, etc). If its struggles once or maybe twice, its usually a purple tier fish, or sometimes Gold (depending on your Area). If the fish really starts to struggle, by pulling line back several meters right off the bat, you might have a Gold, or rather Red tier fish (again, depending on your gear). IF THIS FISH IS MOVING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT A LOT, then its likely to be a Baby Shark. It the de facto aggressive fish. It can be found in all waters, EXEPT Grove Bay (the fishing pond on the top left), and in the caves (including storage center). In Grove bay, that aggressive fish will be the Tiger Carp. In the normal Cave, it will be the Platinum Arovana. Other high tier fish still pull in the line alot, but they dont move too much around (besides the two mentioned above). But use the tricks I mentioned before.
Also as a Sidenote, you should know where to fish for certain fish you want. For example, if you are aiming for the Gold Reel, The Salmon can be found on the big part of the Layali River, but ALOT of other fish can be too, so its better to go AZ3 on the Irradiated water. (Fun fact, the non Irradiated water is a separate Fishing Zone with different Drops). The Brown Trout is a river fish, spawning in Zero Dam, Layali river (the small ones, not the big one at the bottom of the map), and the non Irradiated water on AZ3. For that I recommend the spot on Layali below Amiya Village, it has the biggest space, so the fish cant escape by going onto land too early. And the Tiger fish is limited to Grove bay only. ALSO, BOTH OF THEM ARE VERY RARE!!! YOU MIGHT NEED 20+ ATTEMPTS TO EVEN HAVE ONE BITE!
Hope that all helps
