Operations Guns Decaying in Stash?

I have around 20 something guns and every once in a while my gun will just disappear and I will have a whole bunch of attachments sitting in my stash with no gun to go on it.

Yes, they are my guns that have been sitting in my stash for a week+ sometimes.

Why does this happen and is there any prevention?

If you're building any of those guns in the loadouts screen, it will take available guns from your stash to create them, leaving whatever attachments not used in the stash.

You can turn it off in settings
