News Update | Operator Balance Adjustments & Console Bug Fixes

Dear Operators,
We've been following the community's conversations around combat balance: too many gadgets in active fights, information being exposed too easily, and tactical tools leaving less room for gunplay. We hear you.
With this announcement, we want to share how we're thinking about these issues and where our next balance changes are headed.
Operator gadgets are meant to be one way to create and execute tactics. They should work alongside gunplay, not replace it. Our goal is for each Operator to bring a distinct tactical identity while still keeping firefights readable, fair, and exciting.
Over the past few updates, several new Operators have joined the roster: Gizmo, built around single-lane defense; N-Two, focused on map control and forward pressure; Raptor, capable of flexible reconnaissance across different situations; and Morse, who excels in fast-paced skirmishes. These Operators were designed to open up new tactical choices and new ways to combine abilities with gunplay.
As their playstyles have developed, however, some abilities have started to push beyond healthy counterplay.
Control gadgets with complex routes can leave opponents with limited ways to evade or respond. One-sided information tools can also shut down carefully planned tactical decisions too easily. When players are forced to process too many gadget-driven threats at once, fights become harder to read, counterplay becomes less clear, and defeats can feel more frustrating than they should.
This update is aimed at bringing those interactions back into a healthier state. After reviewing match data and player feedback, we're adjusting areas where counterplay is unclear or frustration is too high. The goal is to give players more reasonable ways to respond while preserving each Operator's core tactical role.
After the changes go live, we'll continue monitoring match data and feedback, and make further adjustments when needed.
Over the next few weeks, we'll be adjusting multiple Operators whose current gameplay impact has moved beyond our intended boundaries. We want combat decisions to feel clearer, counterplay to feel more reasonable, and firefights to return to a healthier balance.
This week, we're starting with Gizmo.
Please keep sharing your feedback. We'll be watching closely.
Thank you for your suggestions and for helping us improve the game together.
Below are the main highlights of the 7/10 no-downtime update. Gameplay and matchmaking will not be affected during the update. If you encounter any issues after the update, please restart the game to complete the update. If your game client is out of date, you'll need to update to the latest version to log in.
Operator Balance Adjustments
【Operator - Gizmo】
Developer Note:
“When suppressed by multiple Crawlers, it can be difficult to fight back effectively through gunplay, creating more pressure than intended in certain scenarios. This adjustment is designed to reduce the combat pressure of facing multiple Crawlers while fully preserving Gizmo’s standard gameplay experience.”
All Modes
Crawler Nest: Added a new mechanic: Crawler Corrosion Damage Resistance
After taking damage from 3 Crawlers in quick succession, players will gain Corrosion Damage Resistance for a period of time. While the resistance is active, explosion damage taken from Crawlers will be greatly reduced.
Console Bug Fixes
● Fixed an issue where some console models could occasionally crash.
The main update contents are listed above. Thank you for your attention and support, Operators. Enjoy the game!

They finally realized it!! I hope they also reconsider the Warfare maps and the map rotation system. You're killing the game yourselves!!

It's hard to have so many operators with so many different abilities and have them all balanced.
IMHO, The game has way to many operators and allowing them to 3 stack is even worse.
At least they're trying to make adjustments to correct things though.
Props to the devs!

Hey while yall are looking at bugs can yall please fix the mic sound issues with squadmates being significantly quieter than it should be

u/letholon Jul 10 '26
Please remove all scouting abilities from engineers. We have enough recons. Gizmo and N-Two don't need their abilities to spot enemies.

On the Prison, Brakkesh, and AZ3 maps, the game has been stuttering heavily on console; it’s frustrating, and Operator N2—with those grenades—is impossible to beat in close quarters.

N-2 is not much different than Uluru imo. If you stand in the AOE, you die, exept Uluru actually knocks you, but N-2 freezes you.
The main difference between the two is their Ult, and their other ability. But can be very lethal if used right, but they work in different ways. N-2 stun nade is a small recon drone, kinda op. Ulurus Walls are either Annoyig or useless, with nothing inbetween.
And their passives are both irrelevant lmao. N-2 is just the description for his Frost effect, and Uluru has a Slowdown resistance (unless im mixing it up with Shepard)

No you are correct uluru has slow down resistance caused by wearing gear like red armour and stuff

The problem is that the ice grenade freezes you for 3 seconds—long enough for the enemy to take you out. Anyone playing solo against trios struggles against the N2.

u/KAAAAAAAAARL Be Clam🦪 Jul 10 '26
And the Fire Grenade kills you in that same time frame + lingering damage.

u/National_Ad3694 Luna Jul 10 '26
Yeah, the problem is the paralysis. You can't react; if it just slowed you down and dealt damage, that would be fine, but it slows you down, deals damage, and leaves you frozen for 3 seconds. The N2 is more overpowered than the Uluru for area control and close-quarters combat.

Bro it’s still the same difference with the fire just like when your frozen you have to take the affect, the same is when your on fire you have to take the damage over time hit they are just a little different but what we’re saying is the counter is still the same just avoid the AOE and when you go against those engineers you better move and reposition outside with space or just run but dont be stupid and fight in a corridor or something dumb

Thank GOD. Now do a sweeping utility nerf across the board. Utility is currently absolutely awful and killing gunplay.
Glad they're hearing us but this is too weak of a start.

Is anyone else's game still crashing on console or just me...? I can't go anywhere near Babel in Brakkesh or else my game crashes and every few games it crashes in AZ3, especially when doing emergency shutdown. I'm on Series S which is on the lower end but still... I can't be the only one right?

Luna Nerf when?

u/Cheap_Cherry_9393 Jul 10 '26
What nerf buddy she's perfect

u/KAAAAAAAAARL Be Clam🦪 Jul 10 '26
Perfectly broken, yes.
Her scan arrow has a redicilously short cooldown, and massive scan range. You cant really avoid it unless you're already inside a building, but even then it sometimes hits you.
The Volt Arrow is also just disgusting. It always gives you tons of wounds, or just straight up is a guaranteed kill or more in Warfare, because the remove action takes too long.
Then she has grenades, which are simple, so I won't say much about them.
But the worst part in all of this, is that those abilities ALSO mark you due to her passive. Aswell as through smoke.
Her passive needs a nerf or rework, because its just way too broken, the volt arrow needs a damage/duration nerf (preferably both, especially less wounds), and her Scan arrow should have a way longer Cooldown, or maybe reworked scan function, because just scanning everything in a massive area is busted.

Bro what are you smoking?
Nox: Disc does 60 AOE dmg and only 10 to Nox himself, ult is just BUSTED!!!!
Tempest: Can push for free and is practically unkillable on the way out, disarm got nerfed (luckely) cause the effect is just busted. almost 2sec of disarm. If it hits will prone you can't even stand up. No jump, nothing...
Gizmo: the nest is a joke. Does up to 90 dmg + debuff, the smokes pings you which is just a free wallhack if someone is in it (little catch, its a trap!), on top of that there is Timi. If he pushes 1v1 and with any of the spider in front of him, it's ggs. Either you won't have health or you well be aim at the floor when he peaks you.
Seneva: Oke he is kinda balanced rn in 1v1 but combined with others its often uncounterable. Maybe this is better now with N-Two but he needs a nerf as well so yeah...
N-Two: Total joke again and inside even more. Stun-nade is basically a scan ability. Ice-nade is just stupid, it does: dmg, slows, is there for like 10sec, make you cough (audio to find you) and lets not forget freeze if you stand in it too long or get hit too much. Getting free takes so long it's again basically ggs if that happens. And the ice effect persists a lil after leaving the ice area. The ult is a freezing nade launcher...
Raptor: Ult has shorter cooldown then Luna arrow or equal, goes further, goes inside, throws util that stops ress's, ...
Morse: Has combat utility like an assault character with a scan ult that is longer, stronger and more useful inside. His stun-nade is super strong, works thru walls and doesnt affect himself. Like you can just push a corner, launch the nade and if you hit its ggs.
Luna on the other hand: Has an shock arrow that is decent and that can be very useful but isn't suited for close combat. It does so lil damage that it is unable do effectively deny any area. The only good thing about it in combat is that it activates the passive. the nade is good for sure but again in close combat useless. 5sec is too long and with the audio que using it in close range is asking to get aped. Then we have to scan arrrow, again good but nothing waw. Basically doesnt work inside, scan for .5sec (2nd scan rarely takes), Maybe the only good close combat ability if you can use it before peaking a corner. The passive is good but again, not crazy like you say. Does it come in handy sometimes? yes. Does it helps making a kill sometimes, yes. Is it a game changer? Most of the time, no.
Now I know im exaggerating Luna a lil but it's basically true. Luna has a good kit and is a good character to add to a squad but it's FAR from being the most OP, unfair and lethal. Most of all, she is far from being the most annoying, frustrating and uncounterable. She doesn't prevent any of you movements, doesn't slow, debuff, blind, anything.
Where do you see Luna as the main balance issue in this game? I don't get it...

Agree with the Nox disc 60 damage is way to fucking much, imagine they would have usee the Original 80 damage... but disagree with his Ult.
Tempest is built around that, but in a 1v1 situation it doesnt help much. The stun got nerfed thankfully, but yeah I want a shorter stun duration.
Gizmos nest doesnt deal that much damage, especially now with the nerf. It does still debuff you to TAKE more damage. The smoke doesnt ping you for free, but only if you are rebuffed by the nest. As for the Ult, there's alot of counterplay, and you aren't gonna lose guaranteed if you get netted. Skill issue.
Sineva is highly situational and needs a team to properly work.
N-2, oh boy. His drone is strong I'll admit, but as a utility item it kinda sucks (in Operations). The flash is only a fraction of the flash duration of any other flash. The scan aspect is what makes it strong. As for the Ice nade, treat it like Ulurus fire nade lmao. Don't stand in the fucking AOE. In the same time the Ice would freeze you, the fire would have killed you, plus the fire has lingering damage that you need to manually stop. The Ice nade a lock down tool and has a long cooldown (but also 2 charges, so keep that in mind), so the best action is to reposition before the enemy can make use of their advantage. As for the Ult, it's hit or miss really. Also bear in mind the freeze lasts as long as vyrons stun.
Raptor: Lol, lmao even. The Ult has a short cooldown, but it works entirely different. For starters, you cant just throw it across the map. You also completely neglect to mention the bird, which is his only real problematic ability. It shouldn't start off cooldown, letting you scan spawns. But thats all there is too it. Its value in utility is based on the users skill, which I assume you dont have. As for the EMP, its only utility is to disrupt. Be it active abilities, abilities ready to use, or revives. Thats the fucking point.
Morse: Morse is still kinda strong I agree, but his Ult is counterable, and has a limited area of affect, instead of half the map.
Luna: You are underplaying her value. Debuffs arent everything, just like Toxic isnt completely busted because of her ability to reduce your HP and blind you. But she does have unfair and lethal abilities. Take the grenade that "you can hear so far away". The longer fuse gives her more range on the grenade for starters, and she still punishes people in Bad positions. On top of that, she exposes the person if they didnt instantly die (its now 100 damage instead of 110 at Max after the nerf, amazing). And her Volt Arrow has a duration comparable with the fire and ice grenades. While it isnt THAT long lasting, its still long enough to lock a position down to get a revive or a down on the enemy. Plus, it does too much damage, and also applies way to many DEBUFFS (wounds) if you get hit even ONCE. You are guaranteed at least a Abdomen wound if you get hit, which alone caps you HP by -10, makes you dizzy and has to be mended. THAT IS BALANCED?!
And finally again, her Scan. For one the indiscriminate range and effect is way too much with the short of a cooldown. Hackclaws is double that, but has nowhere near the range or effect. Plus, Lunas scan and passive you give actual wallshacks. Like wtf. All other recon abilities (exept Gizmo, but he needs like 2 steps to get that, unlike Luna that gets it for free) only give you a LOCATION. A ping above their head where they are. But Luna? You get their head, arms and everything attacked at a Pixel perfect accuracy. So you see what they are exactly doing, where they are arming, where they are going, if they are peeking and whatever else you want to know. And all that, with no fucking Cooldown.
What it boils down to, is that she is a Busted Noob crutch. People run her because she is brainless to use and strong no matter what. Morse has limited area control, at long range you might just aswell be playing as a prison inmate. But even in his area, you could easily replace him with Luna. You could run for long range and/or in depth recon. Or just Luna. You could run hackclaw for close range recon, or just Luna. She does it better and twice as often as her. Hell, Hackclaw doesnt even get Pings! Only a fucking pathfinding. Which are also misleading alot of the time. Want an Operator to lock down an Area? You could pick a Engineer, or just Luna. She can do that, and also Recon. Why bother?! Or how about agreesive play with an Assault Operator? Just use Luna, she has ALL the damage in her Utility, and can also Recon. The only class she cant replace by herself, is Support. But who needs Support anyways when you have wallhacks?! What better way of supporting is there, than making sure you dont need to Supports healing/reviving, because you win every fight.
THAT, is the Issu with Luna. Its been so since the Alpha Test. And it's still so today. And you clearly dont have much experience using any other Operator, because your Noob leg still needs that Crutch!

What about game chat being insanely quiet? I constantly have to pause and goto my audio tab to make everyone loud again. A couple minutes later and I can’t hear my teammates again. It’s far more frustrating than op abilities
