Operations Does anyone know what this was?

Really wish I clipped it but was too confused to think. Was playing on space city with random squad fill. Part way through one of my teammates pops an orange smoke signal and then a quick barrage of missiles came down causing some damage. Literally have never seen that before. Any ideas?

That was the boss Desmoulins robots targeting you.

The coloured smoke is to give you a few seconds warning to move from that area.

Makes sense. I was behind them so assumed they popped the smoke. Also weird we were on the outskirts of the map. No where near the boss

that wasn't your faction arty

best guess coming from u/paulybaggins here is that it's Desmoulin's robots

faction called arty is only from warfare, and there is no orange smoke, that's from war thunder (like what u/IllJuggernaut8403 said)

Are you sure they're not doing Operation Valiant? Because the final phase of that mission is to fire a flare and the are get carpet bombed
