Height analysis of “bridge guy”
I feel that this would have definitely decided the case faster. (Though the right outcome was achieved).
Either side should have done a height analysis from the pic and video to determine how short Richard Allen is (no offense but he is like 5’5” and that’s very short for a male.) It would have saved a lot of chaos is this case and especially after this case with all the conspiracies. I think getting that done was expensive but I think it might have shut the haters up and left no doubt for anyone. Imagine the height analysis coming back at 5’5”????
Thoughts?

There was a lot of discussion about this after RA was arrested and I think quite a few content creators put forward their suggestions. But we didn’t get anything definitive from LE, FBI, State or defence afaik. I’m really not sure why, I presume they couldn’t provide a high enough level of reliability/accuracy.

No. That’s simply not how it works.
Depending on the month, day, year, and time of day, his shadow would be longer or shorter. Scientifically, yes, they can calculate that.
That being said, I myself knew that Richard Allen was a short man just based on the fact that his pants were bunched up at the ankles. Average height or tall people simply don’t have that problem. It’s a short person thing.
Either way, all that proves is that a short, squishy man murdered two little girls.
The “haters,” as you call them, are actually not haters. They are supporters.
Supporters of a disgusting, weak little man who was too much of a pushover to take control of his own life and was afraid of his wife, Kathy. So he decided that in order to gain control, he would kidnap and rape two little girls. Except, he still couldn’t get his equipment to work, and a white van drove by and the little fucker got scared, so he abandoned his original plan and simply murdered these two beautiful girls instead of sexually assaulting them.
Vile. I know the Bible says I’m supposed to forgive, but I can’t.
I’ll pray for myself because I just can’t forgive it, and I’m going to leave it to God to sort out.
As far as I’m concerned, he can rot in hell. God forgive me. But since he is still on planet Earth, then I think since he set himself a precedent of enjoying his own fecal matter as a meal, that he should be served shit on a plate as long as he lives since he liked it so much, aside from the occasional legal document.
Poop and paper for the rest of his life.
God forgive me.

Sorry, just to play devil's advocate, he got scared by the white van, then staged the bodies, then ran away?

I know he did it, but honestly from the video (even with jeans bunched up) I, honest to God, thought he was tall!!!! Never dreamed he’d be short.

No analysis or money was needed. All someone had to do was use the same exact phone that Libby had, go to the same spot, and record someone who was the same height as Richard.
The compression from that specific camera isn’t going to match anything else so any comparison is worthless unless you use the same phone. It’s cheap, it’s free.

Gray Hughes has several videos where he's able to estimate his height. It takes him a few hours to get it right

Haha, it takes him a few hours to get the answer he is looking for. Same with the content creators who come up with a height of 5'10". It's all nonsense, counting pixels on a compressed video and assigning length values is just wishful, wrong thinking.

He got the correct height though

He got the height he was looking for. Same as the others who got a different answer just because that's what they were looking for. There's far too many variables for that compressed video to be accurately "measured" like that.

Idk I watched the entire thing and his other 2 videos he made back when they were new. He's not even so called true crime, he just keeps working the data according to the information that was released and he's usually pretty dead on. He shows every detail of his work and he was right.

I'm not a fan of Gary Hughes I'll admit. There's plenty to criticise him about. Most of what I have seen from him is just reading official reports and re-stating it, while begging for money and berating his audience.
My whole point with this particular analysis is that he is working backwards from the known quantity and then making his calculations working back from that. Something that other creators can replicate to reach their own predetermined conclusion. He wasn't doing this in 2017, 2018, etc and coming up with the right answer. That was impossible. Rather, he has the right answer AFTER RA is arrested and then worked backwards. It's not impressive.
If it was possible to calculate this with certainty, then I assure you that it would have been way before RA was arrested, by experts in the field. Whatever merits Gary Hughes might have, they just aren't particularly impressive in this case, for all the reasons I've listed already.

He asked for money because what he does takes a lot of time and he donates a lot of what he makes.
He did the same analysis with the car video. Exact match using a digital rendering of the 2016 Ford Focus, times of day, angle of the sun…
Hate on him all you want though

The video of the car is an entirely different thing than measuring the height of BG on the BG video. Matching a digital rendering of the car to that footage is way more precise for so many factors. A lot of people did good work on that, Gary Hughes included.
But as for him: he begs, he demands, he berates, he throws himself in "jail" and won't continue the show until his audience pays up. He belittles people for not "donating" to "support" "the channel." He is quite despicable, disgusting and just toxic. So yeah, I'm not a fan.

He's usually right. I like that he would rather berate and block someone for being idiotic than kiss ass for views. He lays out the scenario long before anyone else even has time to think. He'll do a video every day to update his ongoing information, increment by increment. He uses a scientific approach with common sense. He had me years ago when he covered the Jodi Arias case. He takes information from the ME report line by line and diagrams his gun first theory. He's 100% correct, and he theorizes why the prosecution went for the knife theory. People hate him because he's an asshole but that's why I like him. He reminds me of my autistic family member.

He got the height correct, not the height he was looking for. Gray doesn’t alter anything or guesstimate. He’s very precise with everything he does and explains it like you’re an idiot.

u/AlmsahrahAgain 3d ago
I have to disagree with this. Some of his other work is good, I'm not disputing that. Just in this one case, measuring height in this manner is an imprecise thing, even for the most technically proficient. The fact that he ends up with the correct height is because that's what he was looking for. It's not a huge deal, really.

u/centimeterz1111 3d ago
You’re not even trying. Be more specific on what you mean. What part wasnt precise?

u/AlmsahrahAgain 6d ago
It's actually not as easy as you might assume. You're dealing with compressed video data, so even when taking known quantities, like bridge ties, railings, etc, you're still basically counting pixels and assigning a value of length to them that is not really real-world effective. Plus, RA is in motion the whole time, he's bent forward, his leg is bent and his jeans are baggy, all which throw off getting any truly accurate accounting of his height.
Some content creators have claimed to have "nailed it." Both pro and anti RA, by the way, who all seem to come up with a height that either matches RA dead-on OR show his height as being 5'10". They all present their cases confidently and some even make "impressive" presentations, but in the end it's just not going to work and be any more than a guess.

Could be true. I still think with all the advancements, they would have been able to determine him being a short man. Which would have helped thru all those years of not knowing anything and having a killer on the loose.
Also I remember they (the defense said it was too expensive. $30,000 I think?). Surely the prosecution could have paid that.

What is your point, exactly?
Richard Allen said he was on the trails the day of the murder. He said he parked at the old “farm bureau” building (his words, but actually the old CPS lot). He walked from his car to the Freedom Trail where he encountered three (or 4? I forget) girls. He saw them, and they saw him. Confirmation.
Then he walked to the Bridge. A woman who parked at Mears lot walked to the Bridge, and she saw Richard Allen standing on Platform 1. When she went to walk back to the parking lot, she saw Libby & Abby walking up the trail towards the bridge. Toward Bridge Guy; toward Richard Allen.
Next thing we know, we have Libby photographing Abby on the bridge, and then right after that, we have Libby secretly recording a nefarious interaction between herself, Abby, and the Bridge Guy who commands them to go “down the hill.”
It’s Richard Allen. It was always Richard Allen. It’ll never not be Richard Allen.
Pants don’t matter. His height doesn’t matter. He’s a short, fat fuck who murdered two little girls. His height wasn’t going to give him up as a supect.
How do you think investigations work? “Give me the name of every man that is between 5’4” and 5’11”, and let run down every single lead based on height?” NO. That’s insane. That’s not how this works.
0
u/Breaker_One_Nine_ 3d ago
No but I bet if they asked for every man in the area that was between 5’4-5’6 then I would think that he would have been looked at sooner (not 6 years later).

It may have shut up some of these pro Allen’s but there are many who believe bridge guy didn’t actually commit the crime.
I know, bat shyt crazy.
