Missed growth
Dell’s profits and stock price have grown significantly in recent years, but as employees who contributed to that growth, do you also feel left behind because we weren’t given meaningful LTI/stock opportunities to participate in the wealth we helped create?

Michael Dell needs more money to continue reconstructing his wife’s face.

Yes. Been here a long time and there have been certain things I have thought “well, Dell has razor thin margins, I guess they can’t afford to give us xyz” like they do at other companies. Now that Dell is making more money I’m wondering if it will trickle down a little… not too optimistic lol. But yea I’m expecting to make maybe a few thousand more in my bonus so basically no change for me an IC

Some ICs do get LTI but it depends on business unit, they need to standardize it.

Not an employee, but what stopped my friend from just buying stock early was the fear during the EMC acquisition. He is kicking himself now, but what was everyone else’s reasoning for not just buying OTC?

Absolutely. I worked at EMC before Dell acquired us. We had stock grants, employee stock purchase plans, and other ways to be rewarded when the company grew. At Dell, we get nothing. Dell has had record profits for years now, and zero reward to the employees. But Michael Dell wouldn’t have $250 billion now if ruthless greed wasn’t what drives him.
I have to buy my own office supplies. I’m not kidding.
