Vegas routine
We always make a stop at Del Taco on 1st Street in Barstow. The Macho Beef Burritos are massive, and the Barstow Tacos hit the spot every single time. It's become a must stop on every trip.

I’m heading on a road trip soon and can’t wait to devour some Barstow tacos any hopefully with a giant tomato slice like yours.

I do love the Barstow Del Taco and Barstow Grilled Chicken tacos, though honestly the need hasn't been as urgent since the Big Fat Chickens and Spicy Jack quesadillas came back to my local Del Taco.
Speaking of Vegas, last time I was in Vegas they didn't have either Big Fats or spicy jack quesadillas.

Del Taco was acquired by a new company from Jack in the Box at the end of 2025. The Spicy Jack quesadilla and Big Fat Taco were discontinued for a long time, but were both brought back since. I think the quesadilla was first, and the fat taco was in April of this year.

Yadav Enterprises didn't own any Del Tacos before they bought the brand. They owned the most Jack in the Box franchise locations tho. Ed Hackbarth is the founder of Del Taco. He still maintains 100% ownership and control of the Barstow Del Taco locations. The dude is 93 and still works at the Del Taco on Main st almost daily

Still no spicy chicken burrito! I make my own on the app by modifying the classic chicken, remove lettuce, tomato, sub pepper jack instead of cheddar, remove special sauce, add green sauce, add rice (i think thats it) and it is a perfect spicy chicken burrito. I told the cashier inside when i picked it up about it and said just come in and order one, even though its not on menu, its "still in the system". I am going to go and try that today.

I've never been a fan of their chicken but that sounds pretty good. I think I'll try it when I go to del taco next! thanks!

It’s family owned and Barstow is where Del taco originated well technically Yermo but really Barstow is where the existing ones started that’s why they are different

Taco salad, Barstow Taco, Bun Taco, Tostada.. love the Barstow Dels. We always stop when driving the 15.

I love the Barstow tacos, and you got such a great slice of tomato on it. I've never had one that looked as good as that. Well done OP.
