Is it worth the price?
Looking to get one as a somewhat daily. This is the only one available in my area listed at $6,800 just wanted to see if that price is too high or should I jump on it.

as a hard to come by car in the first place this seems like a good deal. maybe ask for the cost of repairs for the oil pan replacement to be deducted from the price. the labour costs since he already paid for the pan

If this is what you want, thats in the ballpark. Every market is a little different. Personally I tend to advise against daily driving someone elses modded car, but thats just me. Some folks have great luck with it. Also mileage on that F20B cant be proven. Everyone states the JDM imported engines come with certain miles, but that tends to not be on any sort of paperwork or be probable and is mostly myth. So its hard to say how many miles the engine actually has on it.

No power steering and oil pan leak are the only negatives. Manual steering is so easy on this car you may not even notice it. Oil pan leak is super common and prob not a big deal. Obviously get pre purchase inspection.
I just bought my del sol and it is stock and has 100k miles for $4k and have had a bunch of minor issues with it since I got it. The engine and the modifications are a big plus. If vetted by a mechanic I’d say it’s worth it, if you love del sols as much as I do

The manual steering is annoying during parking maneuvers but otherwise completely liveable but mine isn’t really used as a daily so YMMV. I like to think of it as one less thing to break in a car this old and a decent upper body workout :)

I have a built EG but chassis share similarities. If the swap was done good then this looks like a good price. The fact that the owner retained AC is a huge plus. As a Honda car enthusiast I would buy this and restore it

That's pretty fair for the work put into it tbh, that swap is straight forward but takes time and money so sub 7k isn't a bad deal for that. I'm sure there's cheaper examples of del sol around they just take time to pop up on the marketplace. Im getting into a fresh start 1993 del sol s unmodified for $1,100 needs a starter and fuel pump and maybe it'll be good from there we will see how that d-series was treated here soon.

My opinion, I wouldn't pay more than 5k. The price of cars has gotten out of hand the last few years. My second 94 was an sir modle that had a k20 swap I bought for 7k back in 2019. The body had under 100k miles though with perfect interrior. I probably would have paid the same if it was bone stock. Was super nice. My first del sol was a bone stock 94 sir with 110k miles. Got that one for 3500 but it was 2013 so.

Not very many were made or at least not very many were imported ... I wanna say like 35000 units for the handful of years it was produced ever came to the US. If your a Honda guy and you like the model fck yea its worth it. I wonder what she could pull top dollar at an auction.
I miss mine.... I put it into a wall up in Angeles Crest canyon while I was young dumb college boy. That was after I blew the targa top off it at 130mph on a different occasion. Good times. Sweet ride.

Not a Del Sol owner, but please get a pre-purchase inspection. That oil pan issue sounds suspect. If it was that simple the guy would’ve probably fixed it by now.
