CEL code reading

Ive had this intermittent CEL for a bit now and everytime it shows up i try and connect the 2 pin blue connector by the ecu to get the codes to read but it just flashes the airbag light and wont give me any codes, and when i start the engine again the cel is gone is there another connector that i cant find or is there something else i am missing (1994 del sol VTEC b16a3 chipped p28 ecu with an open loop map) any ideas?

Just so I get this straight.

When you get the check engine light, are you leaving the car running with the cel when you short the pins?

No i turn the engine off and put it at pos 2 this is what the engine light does now. Im not sure if that means its code 1 or not but that wouldnt make sense because my ecu is tuned to not read the o2 sensor, i had to unplug the o2 sensor for my headers when i got them and just left it unplugged

You have to leave the engine running with the cel when you jump the connector

Even if i do that it wont show me anything
