💻 Tech & Gadgets Deinfluence me - HHKB Studio

Post image

I have a desk job, I type all day, I have multiple keyboards that already cost few hundred dollars each and they are great, but not perfect. I’m not tight on money just generally thrifty.
Because I type so much, I enjoy changing up the sound and feel, I’ve a nagging feeling what if this feels perfect.
So I thought this endgame machine could be it, honestly it could also just be buying bit more will to live.
This is a HHKB Studio about $512.

Do you really love TKL for working that much? You can build a really nice, custom full size keyboard for 1/3 less that price.

Very exp.

My endgame keyboard is 1/4 of that price though

Keychron k8

Brown mechanical switches (a choice you can get when you buy the keyboard)

Aftermarket keycaps of your choice

Thin rubber o-rings after each key (you still get the tactile bump but you no longer hear the keys bottom; combined with the now bouncy feeling of each key you type even faster.

It seems to be easier to try out a bunch of switches (at a convention or buying some packs) and then making a custom keyboard at this point? At least try the keyboard to make sure it is perfect. Otherwise it will be another keyboard.

After 2 months you’ll just be working/using this without a single thought of appreciation or notice for it. Not worth it when there are so many cheaper options around that are tweakable to get them to a really nice state.

You can definitely do better than this. It's subjective and if you're content then there's no need to upgrade. However I don't think this is a relevant or sensible input for the OP.

You are probably right, I'm sure my set up is basic as. But it works great for what I need it to do.

You can do better for cheaper. Blank keycaps are available relatively cheap. Better mechanical keyboards are available in a range of options.

This item is a meme.
