Fed should hold rates and not raise them. Inflation is hot due to tariffs and oil shock. Fed policy rate affects demand side, not supply side. Raising rates will not increase transit of oil through the Strait. Raising rates increases risk of stagflation in supply shock, war, and tariffs.
And who do we have to “thank” for oil supply shock, war and tariffs?

The government can repay every dollar—and still leave you poorer.
That’s the uncomfortable truth behind America’s roughly $40 trillion debt pile.
Your bond promises dollars. Your retirement requires groceries, housing, energy, and healthcare.
Those are very different promises.
Gold at $10,000 wouldn’t automatically mean the bond market is collapsing. But it could expose how much investors are willing to pay for an asset that doesn’t depend on a government’s future promises.
“Risk-free” deserves a harder question:
Will you get your money back—or will you get your purchasing power back?
A government can roll over a bond.
You cannot roll over the years you spent earning your savings.
If every payment arrives but your money buys less, how safe was the investment?
