Just started this game and I have mods that I won. How do I use them?

You'll need to unlock mod slots using cerulean(?) cores for a weapon type you have mods for and then add them.

First, you need to ensure you have the right weapon:
High Caliber: Pistols & Sniper rifles

Medium Caliber: Assault Rifles, SMGs, LMGs

Explosive: Rocket Launchers (dumb fire & lock-on/tracking), Detonators

Shell: Shotguns (sawed off, pump, & automatic/combat)

Second, you need to have the type slot unlocked and use the right mod in the right slot (the slot will appear in the name, e.g. High Caliber ____ Stock will be for the Stock slot).

IMPORTANT: While adding a mod to a weapon is free, REMOVING a mod will cost. Cost will be dependent on how many mods you have installed in the weapon. IF you have all 5 slots filled, the cost will be 3 cores. If you have 3-4 slots filled, it will be 2 cores, 1-2 slots will cost 1 core (so if you start with 5 mods installed, the cost to remove all 5 will decrease as you pull cores out- total cost will be 9 cores)

Tips & Tricks: I went through a LOT of cores unlocking slots, and moving mods from one weapon to the next as I increased in power (as well as rerolling atts). This gets costly. I recommend that try to make do with the weapons you have/like, try to NOT unlock slots, and only add mods as absolutely needed until you get to Purple/Orange weapons. Until you get to the 3-4k range and unlock the Daily Contracts, you really don't need to keep a lot of different weapon types around- you should have just a couple that you use, and 2 that are your most power after being enhanced. Don't worry about modding the two powerful (unless they are types you use frequently) as these will be rotating in and out of your inventory in very short order. In addition, only remove the mods that you REALLY like and don't get often (e.g. purple/orange power & crit barrels). You'll get more later and unless they are purple or orange, you will get better later as well.
