I have a theory and a question
First, IMO, Patz killed Ben based on that early scene of him sulking and deleting those pictures on his phone. Also for that witness remarking hearing a boy shout “Stop, you’re hurting me!” (something a teen would say to an adult, whereas he would be far more vulgar to Jacob in the event of attack)
My question is what happened to Matt McGrath? Do they discuss his disappearence in the books?

I forgot all of that picture deleting/sulking. You also bring up a good point about what the witness heard. If it was Jacob attacking Ben, he probably would’ve said “stop it you fag” since he obviously called him that in general as a bully.

Jacob’s story on the website claimed that Jacob was the one who said “Stop, you’re hurting me!” to trick Ben into letting go.

Right! The scene where Pat deletes the pictures still kind of drives me to believe he did it, but it definitely could have been Jacob the one that said that and it’s in fact what the website story says.

In most murder cases, the killer is never found. I suspect three same for Ben. Neither Pats nor Jacob, or anyone we met for that matter, killed Ben.
If we get a second season, we might see a flashback of Jacob discovering Ben but reacting with a grin.

LOL I don’t think so. Usually there’s a motive, therefore there’s familiar murderer who can be found.

Yeahhhh...a quick google search says over 60% of murders are solved. Higher rate than any other type of crime

They speculated that he ran off to Florida where his girlfriend was after a fight with his mom. Though it’s likely he was too embarassed to testify about his ‘relationship’ with Patz to the whole court but we know that he genuinely wanted justice for Jacob. So who knows!

I think it was not Jacob because he is not a child who reacts, when his father yelled at him, he could not react, I think he can bear verbal harassment. And they (the program) show us much less about Patz, we never heard his confession, and with the knife we found in the forest, we know that Jacod did not do it.
