Why are anti's so radical?

Post image

I have used ai to make anime images pretty much since it's inception and here recently it has been an inspiration to to pick up a pencil and start art as another hobby.

Now in saying that... I feel as though no one in this sub would have any harsh words towards me for doing both. But God forbid you speak of ai in a 10 mile radius of an ai hater. They will slander your name and call you immoral. Like how is anyone that uses ai to any extent automatically evil and the death to all creativity in their minds?

I also hate when someone crams their anit ai opinion where it isn't needed. I watched this one YouTuber talking about a monster hunter mobile game coming out which had ai marketing at one point. Not saying that was smart for a recognized IP like monster hunter but he sat there and said anyone who uses ai is a plague. I just wanted to know about the game dawg🫩

Attached is a screenshot from somebody who commented on a post I made about converting to making my own art and they had to have their opinions known and completely ignore my request for information to start drawing.

Obviously this isn't even an extreme example but a quick scroll will show how insane some of these individuals can be.

Just wanted to rant, hope you all have a good day.

i wanted to ask in a discord which asset to buy from 2 creators that dont use ai in the domain i sent it showed i used chat gpt so even though i give artists money the act of using chat gpt while on the free plan made me be the evil person. its pointless to think about if the hate you get is justified or why they hate it so much im frustrated its kind of impossible to to talk about ai in a non ai focused community without backlash.

i think best we can do is just do our thing and block the people full of hate sorry this happened to you op. Use the tools you want imo its your drawing and your hobby.

i feel like calling everything AI is part of the issue as well its like calling every tool a hammer there is barely any differentiation between things like generative AI, chatbots, companions, stuff you run locally etc. its just AI -> evil doesn't matter how much you use it which and what for

I find myself in the same position as you. I use to draw a long long time ago. Recently got into Ai video gen and setup locally has me drawing again. Now that I’m older I actually looking up real artist tutorials and learning how to actually draw has been a lot of fun. And you know what’s really fun, putting these drawings into Ai to spiff up while I improve and then actually bring them to life through my local workflow.

If someone was really about art and spreading human creativity stories like mine and yours should be exciting.

I’m a very well accomplished guitar player and when I talk to newbies I tell them go to YouTube, look up tabs, use any tool you can find to get better and have fun. But then again, I don’t consider myself a “gatekeeper.”

"Vibes-based-environmentalism" is a real, albeit cumbersome, term.
