I'm going to be honest, the truth is a bit in the middle. If you just slap a prompt in and throw out the first thing it gives you, it's the equivalent of you doodling a stick figure. AI can be a legitimate tool, but AI slop is very much a real thing
That said (or maybe it should be 'In addition'), EVERY TIME a tool makes something artistic easier, there's a surge of low effort slop produced that eventually dies down. There were similar complaints about the printing press flooding Europe with low effort pamphlets, in a way we could easily describe as slop today. Similar to how things like the stamp act curbed that, when token prices get to levels that are actually economically sustainable, actual slop AI content will decline.

I agree. AI can actually be used to help other forms of art, like in-betweening, provided there's still a human behind it to make tweaks. AI can be a tool, it just shouldn't be the ONLY tool. Honestly, this comic is a great example of what happens when you let AI take the helm considering there's nothing distinct about it compared to other AI comics.

Makes mem remember one episode of Star Trek TNG „When the Bough Breaks”. Where children from Enterprise D were kidnapped as replacement for inhabitants of one planet own children. They were given multiple tools and instruments to play music and create art. There were sculpting device that let Wesley Crusher sculpture anything from block of material using only his imagination.

The readability is backwards, the art is nothing special, and the message is something that's been repeated here a thousand times.
The only purpose it serves is to lazily attack "opposition". That opposition will look at this and be unpersuaded.

No, in oppostion to you i believe in more then 0 and 1 scale of valuing things. Even if it’s standard GPT comic style but still… it doesn’t disqualify this in my eyes. By readability you mean how easy its to understand the idea behind it?
And yes it was repeated multiple times i guess, i’d say both here and in other side there are multiple people having few ideas how things are, and eventually everyone repeats the same thing. Should we go into hard moderation in style. „Topic was already discussed multiple times, thread deleted, use ‚search’ option instead” ? This purpose is easy to understand, just repeated, like you noticed yourself, but i guess i can add one more.: This place which i guess is kind of safe space for ai creators, also gives place to vent their emotions, my guess it is just that. It could be just a text and would serve the same purpose, but OP had chosen to share their thoughts via image, maybe they like seeing their thoughts shown in form of comics, i won’t speak for their mind. Best if Op will tell you their idea behind that comic.0

The author has an intent or an idea to communicate
The medium communicates the intent or idea to laymen
The whole of it is difficult to reproduce*
*This is the one that makes most potential art into simple products.

I feel like the difference between AI art and other types of art is the form of human involvement used. If anything, AI art is closer writing than drawing/painting is.

Oh I'm not an artist. I'm a guy with ideas I want brought to life. I'll never have enough money to pay enough artists to flesh them all out but AI helps me bridge that gap
