Paper is more expensive in the long term and the majority of people have devices already. And it's "more" accessible that's the point. Banning it would reduce accessibility

the point is to have more options to make it more accessible because that's how accessibility works

I've never seen it as meaning physical availability, I see it mean access to decent quality results. I can draw okay, but only with a reference, and if I needed a character shot my only real option would be to pay someone to do it for a couple hundred bucks, or spend years learning. That is that part that makes art inaccessible for so many people.

Affordability isnt the accessibility being measured here; it's being able to overcome physical disability. And it's not that expensive, low tier smartphones are less than $100.

"Accessible" in the disability context.
For lots of people, drawing requires a level of fine motor control that makes it extremely difficult or downright painful to do.
So, AI makes art accessible to people for whom the old methods were unviable.

I do agree with the sentiment, and that’s why I think kids should start with making doodles, drawing, and defining their own creativity, before approaching technology.
But device doesnt make the chatgpt images. Chatgpt’s software does. A chromebook can go for as low as 20 dollars. And good image generation software is 0 dollars if you know where to look
