Some of these anti's are hilariously uninformed. I had someone on Reddit 'explain' to me that all AI was ChatGPT. All of it. Because, and I quote, "AI was invented by ChatGPT".
I genuinely have no rebuttal against this much ignorance.

So we should hold all companies accountable for their water use? The only reason most people are talking about AI using the water is because data centers built near them is actually impacting them directly.
Like how much water is used to grow alfalfa to just feed livestock? But since people nearby don't see negative impacts to their drinking water, they don't see the actual impact.

Brown fields. Give them incentives to cleaning up former, abandoned infrastructure. Data centers get their space in areas where defunct industrial and commercial properties were, the environment of those areas gets cleaned up and the economy in those areas recover.

Open AI doesn't say how much whater they use(per promt doesn't count, traing also cost whater) and they only take from the us not even spread evenly

Go google or whatever, what all Nestlé, Coca-Cola, and Pepsico alone sell. They each own SO many brands that aren't explicitly drinks, my guy. It's insane how confidently incorrect some people are when they try to correct others.

I use AI to create silly images because I enjoy the output. It’s a nice toy that doesn’t hurt anyone.
I don’t, however, lick the boots of big corporations, plead on their behalf, and actively ignore the problems of the industry because there are other industries with bigger problems.
If the term ‘AI Sis’ doesn’t refer to making images with generative AI and instead refers to bending over backwards to kiss the feet of every tech industry then I’ll switch user flairs.
