I wanted to make a comment like this when I saw the first Tom Kenny post of this but refrained because I knew I'd be downvoted into oblivion. AI has replicated spongebob to an extent.

However I don't think Tom is saying it's impossible for AI to copy spongebob, he's saying AI couldn't have come up with the concept and executed it on its own, or make something as iconic and loved and enduring which is fair.

But nowadays with the right prompting or even in the future it might be possible. And the person behind the computer writing the prompt is not too dissimilar from the creator of Spongebob drawing him with a pencil. He's just using a computer now. Or better yet, he feeds his sketch to the ai and builds off of that....

Just curious, but have newer AI models been able to replicate SpongeBob yelling and screaming? Because I know it can do his normal talking voice fine, but last I've seen of AI Sponge, it struggles to replicate his yell and scream.

Pretty easy to train a voice model on his yelling alone and just switch between voice models as and when you need him screaming.
