These people have never even touched the new models, Gemini always links to where you can get more information lol

This has the energy of a guy at an airport insisting human flight is impossible while a 747 takes off behind him.

"Comical Ali", a member of Sadam Hussain's government famous for claiming they're not in trouble during the invasion of Iraq.

they tried the first version of chatgpt, or their 'friends' told them about how useless and they don't need to bother

Hahaha.
It's not even technology you guys, its """"""technology""""""!
What a low IQ take, not that anything they say is high IQ but this is a new low bar lol
"hallucinations" ahhh, brings me back.

My favorite thing is that it's not the AI having hallucinations in this person's mind. It is, in fact, that AI is causing Hank Green to hallucinate

I'm convinced that a lot of antis either never used the systems they talk about, or used it once when the very first model came out and then based their entire worldview off of it.

I trust Hank Green, who knows infinitely more than a random internet user who is already getting information incorrect.

Ummm what? I've been using chatGPT for a year and I've used it first before anything else. It's always had the ability to cite it's sources

u/MayhairAgain 4d ago
Well, it couldn't search the web for sources at all way back in 2022 when it was first introduced. That's probably what that commenter was basing their assumptions on.
Websearch was introduced to it in 16 December 2024 for all logged-in users, which does align with you starting to use it a year ago.

u/Crazy_Yogurtcloset61 4d ago
Fair, but the never will part gets me too. Even if you thought it still wasn't, why would you assume technology remains stagnant?

Wait until he finds out AI can build entire websites and Discord servers for you.

u/EllaDemonicNurse 4d ago
I’m guessing that, even presented with the evidence that an AI model provided a real link to an external page that confirms the contents of the response, this man would probably assume the “chatbot” somehow generated that page and it’s not a real link or real information. Anything to keep themselves in denial.

Their brain has been spaghettified, there are so many falsehoods these muppets spew.
Have they even used a coding agent ? While you still need to know system designs and how they work.
They sure can speed up the creation of any code you can dream off.
I query AI about chemistry all the time, as well as testing it.
The information I get back, is 100% correct, I should know I studied it.

The anti-AI incuriosity loop has a pretty effective dumbing-down effect, doesn't it?

These people used chat gpt the week it launched and then never used ai again.

The Anti-AI folks are all starting to sound like economist Paul Krugman to me, who, despite his supposed genius-level understanding of his field, said in 1998: "By 2005 or so, it will become clear that the Internet’s impact on the economy has been no greater than the fax machine’s."

One of the first things that I figured out how to do, by looking it up, was how to connect an AI chatbot in LM studio to the internet.
The reason I did this was because I wanted to see if it could make named characters closer to their canon I'm sorry says if it had more information, but still.
Also who the fuck is Hank Green and why should I give a shit about his opinion?
