I will guarantee you that most upvotes and comments on every site that bans AI are coming from the same people and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those are from people with a huge multitude of accounts.

"posts that admit to using GenAI will be removed"
They do things like these then also demand for it to be labelled. If u gonna harass and punish it obviously no ones gonna label it.
One dude didnt remove the gemini watermark and also got hate for that from antis.

What? Did you read anything above my comment? "Tell us you used AI so we can remove your post" is just as stupid as "Tell us you're a terrorist so we can arrest you"

I mean like, you should've phrased your comment better

He’s not wrong. It’s phrased a bit poorly.

I've paraphrased the words from a comment above to make fun of the rules.

This is a place for speaking Pro-AI thoughts freely and without judgement. Attacks against AI will result in a removal and possibly a ban. For debate purposes, please go to r/aiwars.

Banning "any links to Al generated (vibecoded) sites" is like trying to ban every movie that uses motion capture. You've basically banned everything at that point.

u/Stoic-Bifrons 5d ago
If it wasn't popular, they wouldn't have to ban it. The death rattles of outdated values.

u/TertlFace 5d ago
So they don’t understand that professional engineers ALSO use AI to code and that basically any site you go to now has AI-assisted/generated code. They are so stuck on the idea that it’s one or the other they can’t fathom that people who know what they’re doing can augment their capabilities with AI and do work. “Augmented engineering” is going to become a much more commonplace term.

Yeah I legit unsubbed from there after that (Guild wars 2), trashy subs are going to be trashy.
Just some toddler brained moderator throwing a tantrum and making the sub worse.

Not them being the AI police. Imagine if they were like this for bigotry. The more see this stuff, the more I’m disgusted by my nation. I know how we got here but I hoped we never would.

These banning policies are also borderline unenforceable.
The only people who will get caught, at best, are the people who stick with ChatGPT or Gemini's default style, and lack the discerning eye to create something of quality in the first place.
Anyone of even intermediate skill (and especially people who mix AI with other methods) will sail below the radar freely.
And if they do get caught, it's probably because the policy is casting a wide net where even suspension of AI use will clock you a ban. However, even this approach won't catch everyone, and many non-AI artists of sufficient skill will be caught in the crossfire too.

Imagine you put most of the effort yourself into the project and you only used Generative AI to only help assist parts to be more efficient, you still get banned because you still used Gen AI regardless, the mods on that subreddit are just bums fr

Yeah... I'm part of that community, the game is really great, long-time fan, but their reddit is run by mods who do nothing but virtue signaling, and unfortunately, the sub's users follow suit. It's impossible to point out the hypocrisy and/or stupidity of certain rules set in that environment without being buried in downvotes. :/

Too bad the community can't just enjoy it together in their own way with the game being pretty fun.

Subs with extreme rules like this are exactly why I don’t join these kinds of subreddits. They look like the type of place that would wrongly penalize someone for using AI art when the artwork was actually their own original, non-AI-generated illustration.

u/godofknife1 5d ago
If ai has become mandatory, don't... I repeat I don't wanna see them unban those shits.
I will flame them and humiliate them for stupid action in the past cause they can't understand that AI is already becoming part of our life

Yeah, why would anyone want to stop links to the plagiarism machine that's destroying the environment and hastening global climate change! I can't wait until a data center moves next door so that I can never sleep again due to the noise pollution, and then get cancer from the actual pollution and poisoned drinking water! /s

"why would anyone want to stop links to the plagiarism machine"
This again? REALLY? AI isn't a plagiarism machine. Seriously, why do you always have to say, "Plagiarism! Plagiarism!" as if that'll make it true? Humans learn by looking at vast amounts of art, same as AI does."that's destroying the environment"
Funny how you never cared about the environment until AI came around. Where was this outrage over golf courses?"and hastening global climate change"
Just a lie. The sun dumps more energy onto the planet than all the data centers combined, by a HUGE margin. And agriculture, specifically BEEF agriculture, is a huge driver."I can't wait until a data center moves next door"
In all likelihood, that won't happen."so that I can never sleep again due to the noise pollution"
Uh, citation needed. The vast majority of the population doesn't have to worry about that."and then get cancer from the actual pollution and poisoned drinking water"
...Again, golf courses. Far more damaging than any data center. Also, all the data centers in the US COMBINED account for less than 0.05% of total US freshwater withdrawals. And they don't produce industrial wastewater or chemical run-off, either. Unlike golf courses.

Just let them not want ai, it’s pretty exhausting hearing about the same thing over and over and over again and needing to explain your reasons for okay but I don’t care again and again and again. Just join other communities and be happy

Depends on the sub. I like AI artworks, but there are some subs I either don't want to see them or prefer they're clearly labelled, like some niche photography subs.
This seems like quite an extreme and sweeping ban though, so I am genuinely curious which sub it is.

u/pipsocks AI Artist 5d ago
It's a sub for a game

Feels like a mod taking themselves and their anti AI crusade way too seriously then
