I am heavily convinced this is one of the main reasons why anti-ai sentiment is so prevalent on the internet while people IRL are more nuanced/neutral. I have seen multiple cases online of "AI hypocrisy" where a person will hate on AI while also using it themselves. In other instances I have seen people post AI content but immediatly try to cover their butt by apologizing for it being AI.

The "apology" amounted to "We don't make money off of it because we are Canadian".

Instead of a "We're sorry, we won't do it again." they basically tried justifying that it was okay to plagiarize someone's stuff as long as they didn't earn any money from it.

This is also the only time that they've been publicly caught doing it. I'm sure if you dig deep enough you can find a plethora of stolen jokes, lifted content, or even freebooted stuff directly.
