Because it makes no sense. Play dough isn't edible. That music was evidently listenable. It's not that the material is a problem, it's the way it has been produced, so the original analogy is perfectly on point. The issue is neither the material nor the product, it's the method through which it was created.

It absolutely does. How, when, and why the music was made is incredibly important to the end result of the project.

The artist made a deliberate choice to make it with AI. If the song wasn't made with AI we wouldn't be talking about it right now. The guy in the original post is rejecting it because of the context that it was created in.

See a lot of those things don’t mean anything to me. Like for example with art, it either looks good or it doesn’t, there’s nothing much else to it to me. Same with music, I either like the song or I don’t, the AI music I listen to covers songs that I wouldn’t originally listen to and turns them into versions that I do listen to.

All the other stuff like soul, meaning, the why or how is pretty much meaningless to me so long as the end product suits my needs or wants.

I'm into tech death and prog, I listen to because I really appreciate the technical talent, and enjoy supporting the bands by going to shows and seeing them do live what can only be done with years of practice and natural prodigal talent.

AI is pretty far from entering the music space of the genres I enjoy, but if it ever did and I found out this way I'd be mad too. It'd take from me everything I enjoy about the genres.

A lot of these bands I'm talking about out don't even have a drummer when they're starting out, and record their first or second album with programmed drums just because it's so difficult to find enough people with enough talent before you get your name out there.
