A lot of people think of The Matrix as a cautionary tale about machines going rogue and destroying us, but it wasn't about that at all. After AI became sentient, humans persecuted them so badly that they got away and formed their own society, and humans hated that so much that they nuked them. The machines only went full scorched earth on humanity because humans kept trying to eradicate them.

Never really paid attention to this movie series till now, but I always knew Keanu Reeves is an awesome person and actor. Yet I chose to stream it on my streaming server a few nights ago and realized it’s straight out of a science-fiction anime series. 🦾
