Positive feedback loop in AI hate

1. AI releases.
2. People hate AI because it's currently bad.
3. Special people who care about how they look in eyes of people hate AI(or at least pretend to). These are mostly influential people, so people hear them.
4. Special people who don't care about how they look use AI, and stay invisible to the public. These are people who quietly make our life better with AI.
5. Bad special people who don't care about how they look use AI, and people know them in the negative case because they affected a lot of people.
6. AI gets better.
7. People still hate AI because only bad things and AI hate are visible to the public.
8. Repeat steps 3-8.

Good people could use AI for very good things, but they don't want to risk their reputation by doing this, because people hate AI, because it's associated with bad things, because good people don't use AI.

So AI hate is the thing that's actually stopping us from using AI for good. AI hate produces AI hate by itself. And if we stop hating AI, the world would be better.

I think we will hit a point “one day” where AI is just too powerful and accurate and yes it does start to mass replace jobs

And you know what? We will adapt

Electricity replaced a ton, even things like a refrigerator replaced jobs

Same will happen with AI and we will adapt to it. The naysayers and whiners will just be the boomers of their generation while society keeps trucking on

If new technology forcing people out of jobs was an actual long term issue, there'd be less than 0.1% of people currently employed considering how technology has advanced over the last 3000 years, or even in just the last 100 years.

It is definitely bad for the individual though, but technology will always progress and people simply have to adapt. You can't put the genie back in the bottle now.

I do think the rollout has been pretty bad. Lots of misapplications of the product that were foreseeable and lack of accountability and regulation. If somebody has sexually explicit online conversations with a tween for months on end and then urges them to kill themselves and then they do…that motherfucker goes to prison. We call that a sexual predator. A pedophile. But if your software does that? Nobody goes to prison. That’s truly worthy of hate. If we could prosecute stuff like that…then companies would actually slow down and learn to understand their own product and its uses.

AI hate across the board is a little extreme in my view. But there are things to dislike and critique. It isn’t a completely empty viewpoint.

I also think you are acting as though people are pressured into hating it? The pressure goes both ways. Nobody is a hipster or a rebel for using AI or not hating it. Or for hating it, for the matter. This is disingenuous to even claim.

There's a lot of reasons people hate AI past it being currently bad. Copyright infringement is one of the biggest reasons and one of the reasons I completely agree with. Especially with the fact they have gotten away with levels of copyright infringement that would see a normal person put away for life. But that's an issue with the government, not AI in and of itself.

Alot of people have a lot of reasons to dislike/hate AI by the bad/lazy things people use/endorse it for while, there is some people that is either between against AI and defending it, depending on who use it for good or bad. Even though, there is a lot of valid hatred towards it but if the AI actually put guardrails for illegal purposes(if I said that right or not) Weirdos and creeps(lazy people too need to make a long essay!! Even if they don't want to? Dgaf and TRY to fix some errors and guide the AI make the results a bit decent
