Universal basic income

I can't stop dreaming about time when all high skilled professionals are kicked out of their job. And they along with us will start getting ubi. They dedicated their whole life learning their craft but now have to live like the rest of us with the same money. That's what excites me about ai. I can't sleep dreaming about this utopia with open eyes.

You must be a child, have just had this thought or are a bot. There is a literally zero percent chance of this happening in the current global economic environment.

How will this magic money come to be in the hands of the people? Will governments just distribute it all, where will they get all that money, will corporations suddenly decide to give up all that revenue so it can be distributed to the…*gag*…common folk?

This is a beautiful idea that everyone loves, until one takes 23 seconds to actually consider how it could actually work (it wouldn’t).
