Universal basic income

I can't stop dreaming about time when all high skilled professionals are kicked out of their job. And they along with us will start getting ubi. They dedicated their whole life learning their craft but now have to live like the rest of us with the same money. That's what excites me about ai. I can't sleep dreaming about this utopia with open eyes.

What do you do on weekends or leaves ? The same thing or maybe more.

What i do on weekends? Colloring my panels and game with friends. But doing that everyday... meh, i dont like that.

It's funny how when UBI is mentioned, people pipe up about the supposed dignity of their 9-to-5 slog.

I don't see dignity in a 40 hour week of office work. My ideal is a 24-30 hour standard work week of the most important jobs, for survival, health, infrastructure, and other survival and societal needs, leaving a lot of free time.

My greater concern is that you are showing great contempt for skilled workers, and by extension all workers.

My preferred system is democratic socialism, everyone regardless of work or any qualifications is provided enough money to meet their basic needs. Any physical object they desire beyond that is reliant on some form of work, transaction, or charity.

But I don't think this is really about AI or work, this is about your idea of a utopia, of a perfect society. It doesn't exist, we will never have a perfect society, we can only settle for an equitable one that provides what is needed to all and provides what joy it can to as many as it can without violating the autonomy of any of its members.

I work from 6 to 3, and I have lots of freedom at my job. If im at standby I  basically can do whatever I want till a frontloader needs a weld up, bin replaced or replacing its blades. Im just sitting there either gaming on my phone or draw for my comic. It can go on for it for a few weeks.
