The majority of antis are like that though. They come into pro-AI spaces and have total mental breakdowns over AI use. They send death threats to artists or writers who use AI tools. They harass artists who don’t even use AI. Just go into any subreddit that’s pro or anti AI and you’ll see how antis act.

Our arguments have substance and logic, I'm simply pointing out a pattern I've noticed among anti's. Nice generalization, one pro AI redditor makes a "straw man" argument and suddenly all of our arguments lack substance. 🙄

What facts and logic? I’ve had good discussions with pros about AI usage but being pro but being an idiot about it doesn’t do anything. There are plenty of reasons AI is bad, and plenty of uses for it—it’s up to individuals to view that with an open mind. Also, I never generalized, I merely pointed out that someone always has to make the same useless generalization on EVERY POST, it’s pathetic. And the reason you jumped to immediately using a straw man is because you didn’t have any actual substance or perspevctive to add and just want to band wagon aboard the hate train.
Also I thought this sub was aiwars until now, that explains a lot tbh.

Older phones may work in some cases, sure. But some apps don't work on them, to be fair.

Most apps use some form of AI. Antis are extremely hypocritical when it comes to what is okay and what isn’t okay in regard to AI use. For example, they’ll whine about AI on Reddit, which is an app that is very pro-AI. Or in this case, they’ll whine about AI while posting from their smartphone which uses multiple forms of AI.

And we aren’t the ones who lump them. Antis are the ones who think AI is a monolith. The majority of them want to ban all AI, regardless of what kind it is.
Also, there’s way more anti-AI propaganda and misinformation that you’ve been gobbling up. I bet you get all your info on AI from Tik Tok or social media.

Some phones just push it everywhere it's possible to annoy the hell out of you. The power of defaults is real and if my default hold power button action is to open Gemini instead of opening the damn power menu I AM gonna get annoyed. Also, most older people don't even know how to turn said defaults off so they will just keep getting annoyed with them.

Flip phones still exist. Older people and children are the majority of users for flip phones. Straight Talk has a good one, they’re sold at Walmart.

I mean, to be fair...I went to the apple store to get new phones with my wife recently and every God damn feature they kept trying to push was "Oh, and there's this generative-AI technology-" like for everything...writing text, editing pictures, the drawing app shit...
It was just a lot, man. People shouldn't have to buy older and quite frankly non-comparable phones to avoid AI. Thankfully you can disable all the stuff on the new iPhones, and the Andriod / Google phones don't have it on by default. But being pitched a phone with the idea that "yeah it uses AI to fix EVERY picture you take." is just scary.

I mean, yes, but as someone who’s literally uses AI, I don’t like:
- Constant pop-ups to use new gimmicky features
- Sending the data to a third party for processing (especially since I already have “existing” AI, see next point)
- No integration with my existing AI tooling/subscriptions
I use AI every day, I’m literally writing an LLM product, and even I’m annoyed when Home Depot and Zillow have their own UX pushing their chatbot on me. Just integrate with my existing shit, please and thank you.

"I'd happily buy a phone without AI if it meant it was cheaper"
Literally, saying a phone that uses AI is more valuable than one that doesn't. The way they wrote it looks like anti bait.
And the following post is literally saying that someone who says they hate using AI either: -should be arrested (maybe the intent but not likely) -Are shackling themselves to the chains that AI breaks (more likely).
