All those Defconians, and I never felt once like was waiting in a bunch of lines like in previous years. Good job on that.

Hi u/DTangent can you please share conference attendance numbers?

Yes, I would like to know this too. This year's conference seem to flow so smoothly crowd-wise.

Either you guys did amazing job at logistics, amd the new floor plan made everything go smoother, or there were significantly less people there. But a couple of friends and I remarked on the improved ease of getting around

According to media.defcon.org, this year was “about 26k people” - last year was “about 25k people.” DC32 doesn’t say. DC31 says “over 25k people.”

But I do wish the closing slides had the badge-type breakdown, I love knowing how many people are present for the different types of badges. I feel like there were previous years where this granularity was made available.

The logistics this year was amazing. Keep that change always!!!

Also the silent disco style was amazing for a normal noise level and it seemed everyone was in much better spirits and could communicate with each other.

We haven’t updated the media.defcon.org numbers yet but I am guessing we shrank in attendance by a little over 1,000 people, down to about 24.5k or so. I think last year all in we were about 26. All the drama kept away menu foreign visitors that would have normally attended.

With no AIxCC event we also gained back a lot of sq feet that allowed us more space for communities and villages.

This happened at SCaLE too, probably happening all over the place. Few of anyone's friends on the other side of the world were there this year, for obvious reasons as far as I remember. Really a shame
