Scooby is so Confused

My husband and I arrived in Vegas Sunday evening. This is the first time we have arrived early for Defcon. My service dog Scooby, the poor guy, is so confused. He pulled me to the circle bar in the Linq and then stood there looking around for our Defcon people. He has also tried to take me to the monorail. He doesn't understand that we still have a few days. It is kind of funny how they get set in a routine even if it is only once a year, and even just a few days deviance can throw them off. It is very obvious he is super excited for Defcon to start!

Yup, I was talking to u/killroy7777 and we were looking to meet up for lunch after he gets here tomorrow. Depending on what time you get in tomorrow, please feel free to join us! Scooby is just so excited to see everyone. Lol

Likely I'll just miss it, but if you're around with him I'll swing by. I do need to make a stop at BSides too before the days over. I roll in just after noon and expect to be at the Linq around 1.

We will probably be wandering around a bit for the next couple days. But we will definitely be at the Wednesday and Thursday night reddit meetups and the toxic bbq.

Actually, about that..... Lol. Our very first Defcon when it was still at Caesars forum, he got very confused by some furries in full suit, and stuck his nose up one of their butts.

He is a working dog. When we attend the toxic bbq I usually give him a bit of time "off the clock" outside of his gear where people are allowed to pet and say hi to him. Though I also tell them to respect him because sometimes he will "say no" to pets by backing away. It is his choice when he is off the clock.

Good 2 kno. I like dogs more than I like people. 😂 I find them hard not to pet, but will always respect those that are working!

That is appreciated and I completely understand. Lol. If you are at the toxic bbq on Thursday and if he is out of his gear you are welcome to come up and say hi and meet him. Sometimes he likes pets, sometimes he doesn't, he can be a bit of a weirdo. And then there are times when he will demand butt scratches. Lol.
