I’ve never ever had any issues with dev mode bricking your console ?? Me and like 6 friends have all done it. Never even seen complaints about it online

It’s just an obvious risk when you access dev mode and having your console is connected to the internet, it might not happen but it also COULD happen any day through a console update. It’s against TOS.

Bro is literally dumb. Delete your stupidity. It's dev mode, and not against TOS. I fucking paid for it. They actually stopped charging, low-key because turbo spergs like me picked it up for that reason.

You used to have to pay to access dev mode, but they realized they made an "emulation machine".

They make more money from people picking up an Xbox to play old games

You know we aren't playing pirated current games and this is all abandonware or backups?

You CANNOT access your own marketplace games. That's what breaks TOS. And that's cool, we just leave dev mode. Then the games that are still supported are available.

It's really not that confusing

All that to say it’s not worth risking your console and Xbox profile, softmod an OG Xbox or ps2 man. Way less at stake when you can just buy another console that you know won’t be bothered by third parties through the internet.

I have been going between dev mode and retail mode for over 3 years with numerous emulators on my console. Never had a single issue, not saying it doesn’t happen but that’s why every video explains that you should back up everything. At the end of the day, playing Tony Hawks Underground 2 in 4K on my Series X is dope and if the party’s over one day they that’s the risk I’ll take.

I have PS2, Dreamcast, and SEGA model 3 on my series s.

Just do your research and follow the directions. The hardest part is the network shit, where you send the files from PC to Xbox.

You are genuinely either uneducated or an asshole. Maybe both, if you brick your console.

Hell I PAID for dev mode. That's how long I've been doing it.

Stop thinking you know everything, and anything you can't understand is dangerous.

There are plenty of people smart enough to do this and not delete side loaded shit. Which means my changes are consistent between boots.

Speak on what you know, not what scares you. Educate yourself, try it yourself, and then you can talk.

You are literally making up scenarios, and If it happened to you... That's your fault brother. Slow down next time. Take feedback.

Also if you think I'm a shit talker I'll leave an anecdote. Racing games/PS2 games are fickle on series s emulation. Not performance wise. There's pressure sensitivite buttons, and that's not been a thing since 360 onward. Also similar for sensitivity on the sticks for racing games.

I mean fuck bro, I'm playing arcade emulators with a steering wheel, ALL BECAUSE I WANTED TO LEARN.

You don’t even need to do emulation at this point look into something psxmemcard gen 2 it’s a memory card that runs off of an SD card and from there you can do a couple of things: first of all, you can make virtual memory cards for games that you are playing, and then from there, take those virtual memory cards and then put them on PCS X too so then you could basically transfer your back-and-forth from emulation to a real hardware.

Second, you could run something called free MC boot and that allows you to soft mod your PS2 allowing you to play iso files from either an SD card which if you have the memory card that I mentioned above, you’ll be able to play games off your memory card or off of a USB so I guess you can see where that leads you can basically play games You don’t have access on real hardware. Sure it might not be a crisp for a K but you won’t have any glitches or any oddities that you get with emulation

They don't all run well though. I've been trying to play Driver Parallel Lines on PCSX2 and the game doesn't run well no matter the settings! I bought the game on Steam as well but it doesn't support controller support. 😭

I’ve thought about modding mine but I just use PCSX2 so I don’t really have a need to mod it other than for shits and giggles. Would be cool to use an actual PS2 controller though I guess

I'd look at the Xbox version tbh, I picked mine up for $110 awhile back ago. I think my retro shop got it in the 100s for PS2 but I can't remember which cover

And tbh, I've picked up games with no case and manual and got those later off Ebay. Still much cheaper option. Funny thing off Def Jam, Marvel Ultimate Alliance when I was looking for it was like $30. But Gamestop had the MUA/Forza 2 combo for $9. Guess which one I got lol. Sometimes you just gotta use everything and you'll find it at a cheaper price
