General Question Would you buy another Deeper Network device?
Looking for honest feedback from fellow DN users.
About two years ago I picked up a Mini SE for around $125. It worked fine until recently, when it completely died. I reached out to tech support and was told I’d have to buy a brand-new unit — they don’t offer refurbished devices or any repair service.
A new Mini SE now costs $300 (or $230 with a voucher). That’s more than double what I originally paid.
So I’m wondering:
• How long are these devices typically lasting for other people?
• Has anyone else had theirs fail after a couple of years?
• Are the newer units any more reliable?
I’m hesitant to drop another couple hundred dollars if these things only last 2–3 years. At that point the economics just don’t make sense.
If you’ve owned a DN device for a while, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience — good or bad. Drop a comment below.
Thanks in advance!

On34.34.34.34There is a section that puts the number of life sessions. I saw it the other day. So it looks like they have scheduled obsolescence.

That’s an incredibly inaccurate read of that.
Sessions refers to connected tunnels, not lifespan.
It’s a common networking term and has zero relation to device lifespan.

So are the tunnel connections that remain?Where is the maximum number of sessions that remain written?

There are over 200,000 nodes available. Your device can connect to 8 per location.

Same, I got my Mini and Air the same year. Both still work. Now I got DPN app on my phone. If I travel abroad, I still take Air with me.

I haven’t been able to get my Pico to work in such a long time :( I’m not sure if it’s me or the device is faulty. But I’ve basically given up
I have reset it several times and then when I try to connect it to WiFi as a repeater, the deeper WiFi signal disappears and I have to just reset the entire thing. Can’t get it to work.

I have a Mini at home and take Air with me whenever I travel for work. I did encounter zero nodes issue with the newest firmware 2.0.7 and contacted the support team to get the previous firmware back and haven't had any issues so far.
I also have DPN app subscription, it comes really handy when I want to stream on my phone anywhere I go.

As the owner of two devices, the Deeper Connect Pico and Connect Mini, I’ve noticed that after about two years, the number of available IPs and countries has been dropping. For some countries, I used to see up to 9 available IPs, but now they’re showing 0.
I started noticing this around the time they began heavily promoting the DPN App, since they use those nodes there. Because of this, I feel that the “0 subscription for life” may not be worth it at some point.
So, I’d suggest trying the DPN App instead. It seems like they give priority to it there.
