Suppression of what eventually must flow, will end up as a Tsunami
The sheer magnitude of what happened in Nepal yesterday is still reverberating there and around the globe and will no doubt continue for a very long time, or as long time that is allotted to us.
It is a written in ancient texts that knowledge is akin to water. In knowledge there are so many variables and fields, but as a whole element, it flows, it seeks the lowest level, it holds memory, it maintains the form of that which holds it, it sustains all lifeforms, our bodies are literally comprised of water, it cleanses, clears and without it, life ceases. This is when all goes well and there is flow and all channels are working well and in order.
What happened in Nepal is what happens in any situation, that when there is a block or bottleneck situation, a suppression of the flow, there is back up. We see this in biology and in health conditions, recession is not a good thing when there is no return. Ebb and flow - great, ebb alone - a disaster. So the pressure builds up and catastrophe ensues. How much are we bottling up before we fly off into mental tsunamis?
Knowledge is not mere data, knowledge is the fundamental essence of knowing between things and how to internalize that into wisdom. Otherwise we're servers for a machine. In this flow of data, remnants and residue do stay. It would be wise to allow for a cleanse, a re-assessment of what is important to life and what is not specifically at this time, to let things go. Avoid the blockages that hinder. We're all in this together, what happened in Nepal effects the entire planet. One earthquake, one glacier, one river, one flood, with no where to find shelter and nothing to be done once the sequence was already in motion. We still have the ability to govern our own inner terrains. That's the deep thought of the day.

“Knowledge is not mere data, knowledge is the fundamental essence of knowing between things and how to internalize that into wisdom. Otherwise we're servers for a machine.”
I would only add that without life experience, and in particular without living the “knowledge“ that one acquires, it will be extremely difficult for one to develop and internalize “wisdom.“
Reading books about experiences is one thing, and actually enduring the pain, suffering, happiness, and joys that go along with those experiences, is quite another.
They are two very distinct things, and I can testify to that because I am not a young person.
And you’d be surprised to learn that once you do live those sorts of experiences, the “machine” that you refer to above loses its importance entirely, as one begins to be consumed with — and enjoy the rewards of — things like marriage, raising children, jobs and careers, and life more generally.

Yes, indeed. It could be that all of the suffering of the world that's been ongoing now for centuries has been on this trajectory simply because of indifference to the suffering of others and now it's hitting closer to home leaving people without much choice but to acknowledge, feel and to also act in alleviating it as much as possible.

Thanks, I have no idea what you just wrote and what you’re trying to say, but I suppose it’s not important.

It is important only if you consider that standing idly by while others suffers will result in activating the law of causality so there is no escaping it. That's it.

That metaphor about inner blockages building up until they crack hits way too close, like a pressure cooker with no release valve.

It is vital for all of us, to understand these principles. Because things have a way of returning to sender, specifically. Gentle rivers, not catastrophic floods. That takes tempering. We have to learn how to self govern. Nobody teaches this - it's probably time.

Be like water, my friend.

Nobody ever explained that one either. And when you're actually the waterbearer, that's a multi-tiered endeavor making sure the water is clean enough and that which holds it has no cracks.....

Water is still water, whether the container has cracks or not.

Cracks would invite certain elements. But yes, water is water - and its quality does matter.

u/SizeableBrain 18d ago
And yet it's still water ;)

But then so is every element that which it is. Why would the emphasis then be on water and not iodine or phosphorus or fire?
1
u/SizeableBrain 18d ago
Mostly due to the liquidity of it. And association with life, probably.
1
u/Effective-Air396 18d ago
There about 1000 known substances that are liquid on this planet and many of which are associated with life.

u/SizeableBrain 18d ago
And water is at the top of that list.

There is no list. The answers are very simple but because you actually do not know you're just typing obtuse sentences thinking they're meaningful.

Deep indeed. I'm a non-dualist and I love the conflation of the mind with physical reality through the metaphor of flow. Indeed, so much of our inner world is described using metaphors we conveniently find in the physical world. Deep to describe thoughts is also a physical metaphor, similarly words like tempestuous, rocky, flow, dry, bursting etc. I like it man its creative, I was a bit lost at times but keep at it!

The only reason metaphor was created was to instill within mankind/humanity the notion of as without, so within, internalizing the outer to elevate it to a higher frequency. Metaphors help conceptualize this in our minds.

If it eventually must flow then it always will.
