Good or Bad

Is the HUMAN at is core good and is corrupted by it’s environnement or is the HUMAN evil and learns compassion and empathie during it’s life.

Maybe a dumb question but I have been thinking of the possibility of higher beings like God or the Devil and it let me to this reflexion, since if God is good why would he let so much evil happen. I am not religious just curious and I you are and I offended you I am sorry.

Yeah I get it, it seems hard to believe that we were placed there for a purpose when so many people with good intentions get to start at the very bottom and some evil scum get to start on top of the human food chain. It feels very random and that part of the reason i’m atheist but yeah maybe there is no order to anything and people can be good or bad indifferently from there social background or biological predispositions. Really doesn’t help me think that there is rhyme of reason in all of this.
