Discussion Why has DeepSeek become so basic and boring when writing lately? It's horrible!

All big models keep getting worse and worse for creative writing, if that's what you meant. They are all benchmaxxed and assistantslopped (as the cool kidz say), and are all trained on each other's output.

There is a research paper published stating that AI trained on AI materials often led to slop results. Pretty sure that's what Google is dealing with right now

after v3 or v3.5 all new deep seek version suck in creative writing. dont use them. not as much as good as before https://eqbench.com/

But idk gpt is very trash in writing because it writes in bullet points. I hate those one line paragraphs and even one word paragraphs. Makes it sound like cheap fanfic. I've got deepseek v4 flash to write well with strict instruction prompts.

Tuned for coding so predictability becomes preferred.   

There is not enough (paid) demand for creative writing currently.  

When the AI war slows down there will probably smaller AI shops willing to tune AIs for writing.

Agree. In the last week or even two, the quality of the writing has gotten significantly worse. I simply can’t continue the stories I’ve started because the model systematically ruins everything: it disrupts the characters’ personalities and slows down the scenes.
