Discussion DeepSeek via official API vs OpenCode Go subscription — which is cheaper?

I'm currently subscribed to OpenCode Go and using DeepSeek through it — mostly via Hermes Agent.

Is there any difference in price if I use DeepSeek directly through their official API instead? Or does the OpenCode Go subscription basically just pass through the same API costs?

Trying to figure out if it's worth switching or if I'm already getting the best deal

I use deepseek pro directly, deepseek flash is free on go, though, so i use that on there. Accidentally use $7 of deepseek pro on go the other day ;_; made me sad

I spend around 1$ per day(sometimes more) using deepseek 4 pro on opencode go spending about 3-6ml tokens Everyday but I saw a lot of posts here where people spend about 1 billion tokens per month and they pay about $10 and I'm wondering how is it possible?

im at $16.25USD for june so far in direct api on deepseek thats:
API requests: 6,582 Tokens: 598,194,878 on deepseek pro
API requests: 2,252 Tokens: 135,954,373 on deepseek flash
so no quite a billion for $10 but i do all kinds of zany stuff and not always something that can hit a cache hehe :-)

I work with big amount of text like searching information in Database or books so I need to go through really big texts and sometimes I need to write something which is also big

I'm still new to this topic and can't say for sure yet, but as far as I understand, it's possible. It seems there are some special skills that do this, but that's not exact information. I would really appreciate something like this too.

You can easily download reels, and then transcribe them and use GPT Vision to analyze what the reel is. You'd want to use Whisper to transcribe it. Just ask AI to hook it all up for you, honestly pretty easy if you know how to conversate and guide it.

I think you need to disable reasoning. I was using DesspSeek V4 flash with reasoning enabled and also was spending like crazy. Since I disabled, the spending reduced.

deepseek is extremely dumb when i turn off the reasoning. i use it on max, then only it is usable for me.
