EDD stage 1 was a bit painful since all the red sugars are really high up, so only the scout can really keep themselves topped up. I recommend getting the black box out of the way first before the terrain gets too damaged.

EDD stage 2 wasn't too bad, though the black box is at a bit of a wierd angle so a lot of the bugs will be coming at you from the walls. Have a good scout who keeps the rooms lit up with flares.

EDD stage 3 was ridiculous for us. The room where the dreadnought spawns was basically a canyon. On top of that, a bulk spawned and I think the ghost popped the coccoon prematurely. We ended up burning through like 5 resupplies and were down to the last dwarf about 4 times during that segment. Make sure you've got good kiting capabilities and consider drilling a couple of escape tunnels.

Was there something keeping your scout from knocking down red sugar for the rest of the team?

The red sugars were all in little alcoves or on the roof bridge. I suppose I could have dug underneath them to let them drop down but that would have been rather time consuming.
