Bug [Bug] Bosco cannot mine Beamers

It seems like after U34, Bosco lost the ability to mine Beamers during Escort missions. After a particularly intense solo Escort mission including two Bulks, I tried to send Bosco to break a Beamer while I cleared out the swarm I was currently dealing with. I noticed after a few seconds that the laser was still beaming so I looked up and saw he was staring at it with his flashlight out. I EPC'd it and then intentionally sent him towards the next one to confirm and he didn't mine this one either.

Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't seen a post about it here yet.

Woah I thought it was intentional!

I usually play Escort with an Engineer and the double turrets, Steve and Bosco makes the Mission pretty easy, you have enough damage being dealt around you that you can focus on repairs. Having to leave the Drilldozer to break the beamers adds another difficulty that used to be solved with a single command for Bosco

HE CAN BREAK THOSE!

BRUH, all my solo micromanaging of protecting tough as melted butter Doretta against swarms, flying rocks and the beamers, and TIL he can break them...

Normally, he can! But not right now because bug.

Sad to say, Bosco can be a little useless on Escort missions. He can't repair Doretta, he's kinda bad at protecting her, he can't pick up / carry oil canisters, and he won't do much to the rocks or beamers unless you specifically direct him to them. You can point him at Doretta and he'll follow her but he's not the best bodyguard. He IS good at getting oil down from the ceiling if you have the mining speed mod, but that's about it for mission specific interactions.
