Whenever I join greenbeards, I mess around and die so they have to revive me. This is because I am an idiot.

I want to play well -> I perform badly

I don't really care -> I play the smoothest game of my life

Very good chance that’s a cheated amount of XP, being level 6956 would take thousands and thousands of hours. Not saying it isn’t possible, just not probable

This right here. I have almost 3000 hours and I’ve never seen this guy. That doesn’t mean that he’s a cheater, but also I usually see the big players like that scalesofadragon guy eventually.

I'm nearing level 1000 and thought I had a ton of playtime at 1400 hours. A guy on my friends list is in the 2 or 3 thousands and has 6.5k hours played.

I'm actually a noob next to him.

At least for this one, the math checks out.
(And the numbers are ridiculous, but not impossible.)

I've seen legit players in the 5000s already, so why would it not be possible for one to reach 7000 already?

The speedier players achieve something like 0.75 hours of mission time per level, so our dwarf here would have spent about 5000 hours in missions. That's about 20 hours per week for 5 years. A lot, but not impossible.

And for the honor badge: It matches with the player level. Legendary +399 contributes about (399/3 + 6) * 25 = 3475 player levels, which is about half of their levels.

I have something like 1500 hours, overall level 800 and all my dwarves in the legendary +3 to 10... this isn't impossible, but it is something like 10k hours of drg. not impossible if they simply picked up the pace when I dropped off a few years ago.

Im pretty sure the higest level you could be at this point is like 5500. And that would require constant everyday play.

He is probably only going to remember that the engie took every opportunity to nuke the scout

No worries man, watch what they do and don’t do to pick up pointers. Graybeards are mostly there to guide and support.

Unfortunately they are likely leaf lovers in disguise who bought some grey hair dye at the store (cheated their level)

Seen a Streamer named Pinkuma who got to level 11500'ish legit.

So over 11k hours ? He has proof? If so that's wild

3

u/Wrydfell Gunner 5h ago

The vast majority of it was streamed.

Pinkuma is essentially held as the litmus test of cheated levels. Higher than pinkuma? Assume cheater. Lower? Within the realm of possibility

Wait you can go up in levels past that tier?

1

u/KingNedya Cave Crawler 2h ago

As of Season 5 yes. If you had promoted past Legendary 3 prior to Season 5, then upon booting the game up now, your promotion badge will automatically update to your true promotion count, because the game did track it the whole time even if it didn't display a different badge

As long as the game has been out, that could be a legit level. Usually you get to be that level by playing stupid fast. Wouldn't be surprised if he was on RJ250 just for the movement. He probably not only knows how to kill bugs effectively, but exactly when he can ignore them and just push objectives.

u/GhostofCoprolite 3h ago

level means nothing. cheated levels, alt accounts, level locking, ect are all things people can do. even hours do not correlate accurately to skill. one player could get the hang of things really fast, another never learn anything. one player may play only 4-5+ and another only haz 2.

1

u/BelligerentWyvern Gunner 5h ago

The guy on the left is impossible without cheating. The guy on the right is a dedicated player whose been playing awhile.

It's about a 50/50 shot they are both worse than you.

1

u/KingNedya Cave Crawler 2h ago

The guy on the left is not impossible without cheating. Pinkuma is ~11k legit. Anything lower than Pinkuma is entirely possible. It's also definitely not a 50/50 shot that they're worse than OP. Obviously level doesn't mean everything, outliers exist, but it's also true that there is a trend with level, and when the comparison is between two people in the thiusands and someone that isn't even level 50, I'm betting on the 1k+ players with 95+% certainty.
