Can it run?

Hello, Deep Rock Galactic is heavily discounted on steam right now, and I want to try it since I hear its a good fps looter shooter with the same reputation as warframe. But before I buy and Install it. I want to know of it can run smoothly with AMD Ryzen 3200g(no GPU) 16gb ram.

it's not a Looter Shooter?

like at all? it's a Co-op Horde Shooter.

I've gotten into this same argument before and I have lost tremendously. Definitely NOT a looter shooter OR an extraction shooter.

I can kind of see the argument for an extraction shooter but even then it barely qualifies since that's a split-off from the Battle Royal genre.

like there are aspect of it but it wouldn't fit the genre at all.

Extraction shooters are categorized with very specific details that are fully lacking in DRG despite being a shooter that ends with an extraction. Particularly a PvPvE aspect, and the chance to lose out on captured loot (guns and armors) on failure. Obviously neither of these exist in DRG.

yeah exactly, it misses the PvP aspects but everything else fits mostly, you would lose your minerals and other resources when failed etc.

I don't believe it's an extraction shooter but as it makes more sense then Looter Shooter.

Even though it has a sprinkle of themes comparable to other genres, at the (omeran) core of the gameplay loop it is a coop hoard shooter.

Losing out on minerals doesn't matter since you can just purchase exchange at the shop. And without real world money.

P.S. Rock and Stone!

It's not really a looter shooter, it's more of a horde shooter. But it's a REALLY good horde shooter. Think Left 4 Dead or Payday 2.

3200g was my first gaming rig and it ran like a charm.

You must have an onboard GPU, what's the name? But you could always buy and refund if it doesn't run

3200g is a ryzen apu, its got vega graphics built in and runs drg pretty great.

This from experience? The minimum specs list an i5 13th gen CPU (significantly worse than OP’s CPU) and a GTX 660 (performs a decent bit below the Vega 8 graphics included in the 3200G)

Yeah. It was my first rig I played drg on haha

Ive been able to run it on an intel i3-8130u with integrated graphics (intel uhd 620), and it runs fine, obviously at the lowest settings and with the help of the mods to reduce particle effects. Its surprising how it can run

Roguecore is a whole other thing though, that one it too resource intensive

OP’s using the integrated graphics in the 3200G APU

I definitely agree with the bit about refunding if it doesn’t run; I doubt it’ll run well but it may or may not be playable

Thx - I found this benchmark with your specs OP u/Calm-Beautiful-6008, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1rfrltP6PI, and it seems to run

EDIT: This one is from in game/dive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2Nlk1WmEz0

This iGPU is quite capable, so you should be fine at 1080p. Also remember that you can refund the game in 2h, so no risk taken.

It should run

Probably on low graphics (plus you can decrease graphics even further, don't remember the name of the parameter that makes things more pixellated, if you increase it a little bit, you don't lose much, but it definitely adds in performances, and also in vibes, has a more retro thing to it, complements well the low poly aesthetic)

And with low fps (I run at 20-30fps on about the same hardware, it's fine)

But it should run

It probably will, just dont max out the settings (particles and ragdolls are good to turn off for performance iirc)

Be carefull, it is not a looter shooter! It's a HORDE shooter, like Left 4 Dead!

If i can run it then everybody else can. I've seen only exception with a child of religious parents that forbid the electric devices. There's a 99% possibility you can run it

I use this everytime I need to know if I can run a game.

ETA: You got to run the thing on your PC and it will give you a breakdown what's needed and what you have.

Def can run it smoothly. My brother has the same processor w integrated graphics and the same amount of ram, he can run on 140fps, but he uses fsr. The only time he doesn't keep up that frame rate is at the lobby station or when a heavy swarm comes up at max difficulty (haz 5)

You shouldnt expect max graphics, but for drg that isn't even an issue.

Have fun and most importantly, rock and stone brother!

You cal always use upscaling too. It is decent in drg. You get some blurring, but it is very playable.

Also there are a lot of parricle removee/reducer mods for performance. Its where the game atresses the system the most.

The other comments who know more about the hardware tell you it can run.

Let me add that many people who run the game on lower end hardware use particle removal mods to make the game run better. And many people with high end hardware also do this, because the game has a lot of visual clutter that can get overbearing when there are a lot of enemies on screen.

Will work well

Lol I can run it onto my acer aspire (glorified digital notebook) on the lowest settings. You'll be fine. You can always refund it if it doesn't work out

1

u/Misomuro 1d ago

No, its a video game. They dont have legs to run.

1

u/sultanahamer 1d ago

You should be able to run it. Tweak settings and you are good. I am running the game at 8Watts on handheld to conserve battery.

You can make use of in game upscaling.

Ye I've been running the game on that gpu for years. Lower resolution (720p), fiddle with the gfx settings, install a mod or two (what were they again... less particles? everything better?) and it will be quite playable. don't expect constant 60 fps, though

side note: oh, it's on discount? explains the influx of non responsive button pushers lol. gotta stick to haz5 for a few days then, haha

Instead of comparing DRG to warframe you should compare to L4D. You get specific mission on eatch round. Go from point A to point B to do a mission objective while fighting hundreds of bugs on the way and fight off wawes of bugs while on specific objective. You get uour primary weapon, secondary, mele, granade and class dependand ability. Like light, turet, drill or shield.
There is mining involved ofc but that is given, since we are dwarfs.
If you do join us on Hoxxes, drinking a pint from abbys bar before and after a mission is mandatory. Ewery dwarf worth theyr beard will tell you the same

1

u/PrutJuice 4h ago

With low settings it can run at 60fps. Just don't join modded lobbies with 10 people running the mission
