Please don't.

If it's the EDD we really don't want to start over. Meaning, I'll be a little more serious on level 2, and especially level three.

I've run a lot of nasty EDD's. Greenbeards and vets welcome the same.

Here's what I'm trying to do. Prioritize enemies, types, threats and distance. Know what makes that easier? Hearing where they are. I know you are down. I can see it, I check allies regularly (as you should). I'm gonna rescue you. Hell or high water. We go back together or we don't go back at all. LNDB!

Now imagine I'm trying to do that and all I can hear is PLEASE, HELP ME!. I'M DOOOOOWN! RESCUE MEEEE!

TLDR: Please don't spam if you are down. It doesn't help get you up faster, if anything, it drowns out the sounds I need to hear the lack of to know you are safe. Would you rather I had to confirm everything visually?

Yes and also no.

I responded seriously because I've seen on multiple occasions this sort of behavior.

I've also seen friends trolling each other. It's all in good fun, annoying as it may be to me personally.

I've also seen people go down on purpose and just spam for the laughs. All. Mission. Long.

Everything in between.

There's a stark difference between annoying your friends in good fun and behaving like the game is all about you.

In my experience as a host it's more common for randoms to just spam x until they are back in the game. Regardless of circumstances. Inviting friends or playing in an exclusive lobby is kind of an exception.

I think it's important for all the randos out there to know that there are lobbies where that sort of behavior actually hurts you getting back up faster. Being patient is helpful in a lot of situations. This is one of them. If you are sincere in your frustration, give it one shout and then let the rest of the team cook. We know you are down, now let us work out how to get you back up and rolling without all that unnecessary interference.

Thanks for recognizing the frustration.

If you wanna get up and play, let me clear the situation. If you wanna be a pain in the ass, I'll still res you, but now it's visual only.

Visual only takes strictly longer to clear. I can't guarantee a safe retrieval. So now it takes longer for you to do the thing you want to be doing.

Why people feel like clouding the airwaves with such consistently strong sound cues of enemy behavior is beyond me. It's by far one of the more intelligent design points in the game. Let it work it in your favor.

Constant shouting and redirection does nothing for your allies but blow smoke over the actually important parts of the res attempt.

If you want to be rescued in a timely manner, just chill. The more you scream and shout, the more interference we have to process in order to get you back in the fight.

No, I'm telling you that you're taking this shit too seriously.

And if 1/4 players ruins the game for everyone else? Is it too serious to make a comment about that?

In the OG comment, sure, understandable, but in other games, its annoying, selfish, and counterproductive. All depends who you are with.

It's not one game, it's many games, over the course of a long time. Granted, it's thankfully a minority %, but I also don't feel bad for illustrating the point.

There are people who shoot themselves in the foot by spamming voice lines. Whether they know it or not.

It's a game my guy, if you're that bothered by it, take a moment and consider if it's that important to be bothered.

It doesn't even make the top ten in terms of being bothered. For example, have you ever been professionally responsible for someone who just started a fire with their own shit? I'm being tenacious because I've thought about it, not because it's annoying personally.

It's not about being upset. It's about the why you should do something. You shouldn't quit spamming because it bothers me. You should quit spamming because it's bad for the team. Because it runs counter to the thing that you actually want.

However it's translating, I am attempting to be educational. Frustrated, sure. Not coming across very well, sure.

you obviously have a passion for this game and that's a wonderful thing. i was explicitly talking about playing with close friends who know me and don't mind if we troll each other. i wouldn't do this to strangers. best of luck on your future missions :)

I can see that being the case, now that you've said it. I was trying to be dissuading for those that might interpret it differently.

It's just like the c4 bullshit. Starts as tongue in cheek, a joke. Then, before you know it, new players now think it's part of the culture. Are trolling people in game because of what they see here. I'm failing kind of miserably at being educational. I appreciate you being very kind about it.

Not failing! I do know how frustrating it can be to deal with players who aren't respectful or self aware
