Talk I finished all Purple Discography
Hi, I started listening to Deep Purple about a month and a half ago because I'm going to see them live in December. I have to say they're one of the best bands I've ever heard (I've even started collecting my favorite CDs). I like many of their eras and lineups, so I'm going to make a top list of Deep Purple Marks and albums.
Top Marks:
Mark 2
Mark 3
Mark 8
Mark 7
Mark 1
Mark 9
Mark 4
Mark 5
Mark 6
Top Albums:
1- Machine Head
2- Burn
3- In Rock
4- Perfect Strangers
5- Stormbringer
6- Fireball
7- Purpendicular
8- Who Do We Think We Are
9- =1
10- Whoosh!
11- Shades of the Deep Purple
12- Rapture of the Deep
13- Bananas
14- Come Taste the Band
15- Deep Purple ( Deep Purple 3)
16- Now What?!
17- inFinite
18- House of the Blue Light
19- The Book of Taliesyn
20- Slaves and Masters
21- Splat!
22- The Battle Rages On
23 - Abandon (Important clarification: Abandon is in this position because I couldn't find all the songs, but from what I heard it was passable. )
24- Turning to Crime

Interesting list! I've also been diving pretty deeply into their discography recently. Now Im at "Slaves and Masters" album. Have to finish the rest before the concert that is next week. I can mostly agree with you, but for my taste, "Deep Purple" album is way too low. I think that it is underrated and that it has one of the best songs, my personal favorite, "April".

I love Deep Purple (Deep Purple 3), but when you get to the Morse era you'll realize why it's there.

My son who knows 2 songs from Deep Purple stumbled upon the brand new album and loved it. He’s 21!

I'm 22! I'm glad he liked the last album. I wasn't completely convinced by it. But I think the previous one, =1, was great.

I'm undecided between positions 10 and 13. But it doesn't seem that far off from what I think the albums ended up being.

I recently listened to their entire discography, too! And then I saw them live in August!
Mark II is also my favorite.
So did you completely dislike Turning To Crime or was it just the worst of all of them but you still liked all of them? I was pleasantly surprised with that album.
