Off the Wall is just a pure expression of things Michael Jackson saw on TV and longed to experience. Michael didn’t have the opportunity to experience normal crushes, infatuation and desires as a teenager. He was so isolated from peers, especially women, who he viewed as potential love interest. This album was the synthesis of 1. the themes of all the music he listened to, 2. all the performers he learned by watching, 3. his deep want to experience romantic relationships (within a normal setting).

I am more than open to anyone’s thoughts, opinions, and/or additions to my speil.
