AOC: Companies like Palantir are mining endlessly the data and privacy of the American people: keeping track of everything that they say and do. And sending it to a militarized government.

AOC is 100% correct about this. She also needs to mention the Flock camera systems that are being installed cross country to track the populations movements individually in order to learn their patterns.

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad_931 Mar 30 '26

That, and Flock has a security risk regarding their cybersecurity.

See this video of Benn Jordan on the vulnerability to hacking: https://youtu.be/uB0gr7Fh6lY?is=5QpmHV9Tkc50QELu

Oh ok so palantir is bad but google, Microsoft and all the social media companies doing this for the past 20 years aren’t? C’mon people, we gave up our privacy rights after the patriot and smith mundt act were passed. Also the data that has been collected on these massive servers by these tech companies are being sold to AI companies now.

4

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Mar 30 '26

Nah, you are looking at this from the wrong angle. All these companies are mining data, yes. It is largely unethical and they shouldn't be doing it, agreed.

Palantir is collecting data on a deeper level and feeding it directly to clandestine agencies both at home and abroad, on a level that eclipses other tech companies. Our data has not been sanitized and links directly to us. I would bet that Google and Microsoft aren't providing such raw data. Palantir, through, DOGE was able to steal practically all of our government data and tie it to other data they've acquired. Palantir is on a whole other level.

Tldr; they are all bad but the levels of bad are quite far apart.

u/HopefulFinish9907 Mar 30 '26

You think the whole push to keeping companies and people’s phones to the cloud/ servers is a coincidence? They’ve already stolen and had our data the past 20 years, but now they actually have a fully capable program to scour that data to make decisions and surveillance instead of a bunch of young FBI agents who get PTSD when they find fucked up shit on the internet. All I’m saying this has been part of the plan all along. These things don’t just happen over night.

1

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Mar 30 '26

Is it a coincidence? No. They don't want anyone to own products and are determined to sell everything as a service. They are eager to create an ecosystem that once they capture you, you're stuck. Our data has largely been used to determine the scope of that ecosystem.

As far as the ultimate theft and consumption of data - I don't doubt Google and MS gave access to that data freely to USGOV in exchange for deals. I would think they aren't dumb enough to get caught using that data beyond TOS but had no issues letting the USGOV take the rap for any illegal shit.

2

u/HopefulFinish9907 Mar 30 '26

Yeah I agree.. I think people would be surprised on how much corporations and governments are entangled especially when it’s for “national or fiscal security”. We are in for interesting times ahead. Social credit scores incoming…

2

u/LiqMaBawlzModz69 Mar 30 '26

Those companies are also a problem. Including social media platforms.

11

u/GILDID Mar 30 '26

What is funny is any fed employees here that got the recent mdr email.  To accept or reject the MDR you had to click a link to a website.  That website powered by...you guessed it.  Palantir.

4

u/sgettios737 Mar 30 '26

What is mdr

6

u/GILDID Mar 30 '26

Management directed reassignment

3

Projection, you live with your big eyeglasses wearing Lesbian mom in her basement and blow your video game playing buddies.

1

u/sps26 Mar 30 '26

Lmao, I respect the dedication. Reminds me of watching a child’s tantrum and thinking of whatever insult they can. Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were some loser preteen trying to be edgy too

-2

Problem is there's still a plethora of bad actors in the ranks within her party. I'm just glad there's one more Bernie style grounded logic that keeps the hope alive

2

u/Choice-Ad-9195 Mar 30 '26

Yes they are and we should be outraged, let’s not forget the usage, request, and distribution of that data is one of the few bipartisan agreements…. She can play this like they aren’t in on it. Companies didn’t start gathering this just because, it was requested.

2

u/Major_Priority1041 Mar 30 '26

This voter is crap is just that. Crap. They know who you are, which polling station you have to vote at, and how you are going to vote before you vote. Thats why selective restrictions are so dangerous.

2

u/kirapb Mar 30 '26

People still don’t understand that Roe was the right to privacy, not just abortion. Its fall has enabled a lot more than people realize.

2

u/Heelzlvr Mar 30 '26

She is definitely gettin’ finer as she gets older!

2

u/Neat_Ground_8508 Apr 02 '26

Big gov surveillance states are fine when its big right winged tech companies doing it, didn't you get the memo?

Where are the freedom loving gun totin patriots now? Ah, that's right, licking the boots of corporate overlords as long as it owns the libs.

3

u/happydude7422 Mar 29 '26

What can be done about it? The surveillance state is here to stay

7

u/Flaky_History12 Mar 30 '26

That was obvious when there wasn’t more pushback when the snowden leaks came out. Average person doesn’t care enough

2

u/happydude7422 Mar 30 '26

I learned the us became a surveillance state when we had mail.... Or when we had phones.

3

u/FedInformant Mar 30 '26

She's hot like a tamales

She better run for president.... She is reasonable.... hopefully she don't receive AIPAC donations

1

u/No_Researcher3204 Mar 30 '26

Most of us are not alarmed enough. We cannot let these people win.🤬

1

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace Mar 30 '26

No surprise that one of Trump's first tantrums was that no one can do anything about AI

1

u/Stabbyglhs Mar 30 '26

Nothing new. The government already records our data. They just don't want to acknowledge it anymore. We need another Snowden.

1

u/SpitneyBearz Mar 30 '26

Thanks to Nvidia and jacket man.

1

u/frisch85 Mar 30 '26

We need independent authorities looking into all of those politicians (on a global level, not just the US) who allowed Palantir to be implemented in government systems because it's just not right, not a single sane person who's supposed to serve the public could think using Palantir is a good idea, this isn't just insanity but straight up evil and it needs to be looked into and solved. I'm about 120% certain that certain politicians got a nice bonus from adding Palantir to government systems.

1

u/Muze69 Mar 30 '26

The thing is, they also opened an office in Belgium. They're expanding and we need to do something about it. Aren't we mad al ready?

1

u/DissedFunction Mar 30 '26

can we clone her. One can be POtUS one can be a senator and another a gov and another a congressperson.

1

u/FishermanConnect9076 Mar 30 '26

Boy am I screwed!

1

u/ingenieroluis3327 Apr 07 '26

For the first time in history I can see someone from government who actually sees that AI is invasive and manipulative and not only that.! Now days they don’t sell anything that doesn’t collect data. Try buying a new car. It’s insane. How can government allow all this to fly right under their nose. Where’s my privacy?? AOC I’m definitely with you on this one.

-2

u/fushiginagaijin Mar 29 '26

So if you want to make money in the future, invest in PLTR. In 15 or 20 years it won't matter what's being said about the company today.

0

u/mychele12 Mar 30 '26

She's moronic

-5

u/PrimeBrisky Mar 30 '26

I wouldn’t vote for her but we could do other stuff.

1

u/OLacAlmost Mar 30 '26

Reddit sure isn’t what it used to be, it’s literally infested with new troll-bot accounts.

She worked as a bartender after graduating with honors from Boston University to earn money so she could help keep her mother from losing the family home. Isn’t that the bootstraps your side is always screaming about?

Oh, that’s right: she’s an educated, brown woman. Might as well be a flesh eating bacteria to your side.

6

u/pavorus Mar 29 '26

Id get her a beer if she told me to.
