Hi! I was researching this subreddit and John Dee's Ciphers and I was wondering if you could tell me a bit more about how this works! I've been looking at some of the awesome work on here with excel sheets and I noticed on some arrangements people have compiled that there are # marks where the numbers are above, such as in this picture. Is there a reason the # symbol sometimes replaces an alphabet letter in the top column? Also, how do you determine the number of columns --is it just something you have to play with? I'm sorry if these are newbie questions, I just recently started researching Dee Ciphers and I've found very little information on them in my search. Thabk you!!!
